  • Patent number: 4284822
Abstract: Hexafluoroacetone is prepared by reacting hexafluoropropene with oxygen in the presence of a metal oxide selected from the group consisting of tin oxides, iron oxides and indium oxides. These metal oxides can be readily handled and assure a stable reaction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 1980
Date of Patent: August 18, 1981
    Assignee: Daikin Kogyo Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Takashi Tohzuka, Yohnosuke Ohsaka
  • Patent number: 4242286
Abstract: A process for preparing bentotrifluoride or its derivatives by contacting benzotrichloride or its derivatives corresponding thereto with hydrogen fluoride in a gaseous phase, characterized in that the contact is carried out in the presence of aluminum fluoride and, if desired, of chlorine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 1979
Date of Patent: December 30, 1980
    Assignee: Daikin Kogyo Co., Ltd.
    Inventor: Yohnosuke Ohsaka
  • Patent number: 4238416
Abstract: A method for isomerization of fluorinated epoxy compounds by contacting with a catalyst to produce the corresponding fluorinated carbonyl compounds, which is characterized in that the catalyst is a fluorinated alumina or a fluorinated silica alumina.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 29, 1979
Date of Patent: December 9, 1980
    Assignee: Daikin Kogyo Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Takashi Tohzuka, Yohnosuke Ohsaka
  • Patent number: 4165340
Abstract: A process for preparing hexafluoropropanone-2 from hexafluoropropene by one step reaction which comprises contacting hexafluoropropene and oxygen with a fluorinated alumina or a fluorinated silica-alumina as a catalyst in the presence or absence of water, provided that water is present when the catalyst is the fluorinated alumina.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 1977
Date of Patent: August 21, 1979
    Assignee: Daikin Kogyo Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Takashi Tohzuka, Yohnosuke Ohsaka
  • Patent number: 4091043
Abstract: A process for preparing 1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane and/or 1,1,1-trifluoroethane by fluorination of 1,1,1-trichloroethane with anhydrous hydrofluoric acid in the presence of antimony pentachloride in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent which is capable of dissolving both the catalyst and 1,1,1-trichloroethane, is substantially inert in the reaction system and which has a boiling point of above 0.degree. C and a melting point of below 60.degree. C. By varying the mole ratio of hydrofluoric acid to 1,1,1-trichloroethane both fed together into a solution of the catalyst in the solvent, 1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane and 1,1,1-trifluoroethane are obtained with a variety of desired ratios.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 1976
Date of Patent: May 23, 1978
    Assignee: Daikin Kogyo Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Yohnosuke Ohsaka, Osamu Morimoto
