  • Patent number: 5721924
Abstract: In a debugger, interpreter, etc., a referred-to variable determining method is used to obtain a variable in a program having a specific variable name and referred to from a specific position according to the specific position and the specific name in a source program. According to section information obtained by splitting the source program at a block start position and a block end position, block tree structure information representing a relationship in a set of blocks, and variable-name-to-block correspondence information indicating blocks in which a variable having a same variable name is defined, a referred-to variable is determined by comparing a path in the block tree structure information with the set of blocks associated with the specific variable name.

  • Patent number: 5649201
Abstract: A program analyzer in which a part of an inputted C-source program is either a declaration or a function definition. To define a start position of the function designated in the C-source program at high speed and high precision, a DD-detection processor is provided for detecting a direct declarator or a character/token ";" in the outside of the characters/tokens "{" and "}" of the part of the C-source program. An identification processor determines that the C-source program is the declaration when the DD-detection processor detects the character/token ";". The identification processor further determines that the C-source program is the declaration when the DD-detection processor detects the direct declarator and further detects that the next character/token of the direct declarator indicates one of characters/tokens "=", "," and ";".

  • Patent number: 5408660
Abstract: A system for analyzing and displaying program data capable of generating effective information for assuming paths of program execution on the basis of memory dump information of a program during stalling of the program. A data part accessing part access the data part of a program in the interruption state of running the program or at termination of the program. A linguistic-analysis-part for inputting a source program, and performs analysis for the source program according to grammar of the description language of the source program. A correspondence information accessing part accesses correspondence information of variables and addresses representing a correspondence of a variable name and a variable address in a load module.
