  • Publication number: 20160291688
Abstract: To appropriately process an image following a motion of a head of a user. An image display system 100 includes an attachment position error measuring function which measures deviation between reference axes of a head action tracking device 200 (x, y, z) and reference axes of the user (xw, yw, zw), i.e., an attachment position error of the head act ion tracking device 200, and an attachment position error absorbing function which corrects, based on the attachment position error, posture information about a posture of the head of the user detected by the head action tracking device 200. An image drawing device 300 therefore renders, based on precise posture information, an image accurately following a motion of the head of the user.

  • Publication number: 20160252955
Abstract: An image following a movement of a head of a user who observes an image is generated. At a drawing device 300, posture angle data to be received at a certain time after a time series of posture angle data that have already been received are predicted, and rendering processing is performed on an image based on the predicted posture angle data. A prediction algorithm for the posture angle data is roughly divided into two steps: (1) estimating a predicted time to receive the posture angle data; and (2) predicting the posture angle data at the predicted time. By rendering the image at the predicted time from the predicted posture angle data, a sense of delay felt when the image following the movement of the head of the user is presented is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20140198192
Abstract: To appropriately prevent the occurrence of a burn-in phenomenon during a display of a video in which an OSD screen is superimposed on a video screen. By appropriately moving the position for displaying an OSD screen when the OSD screen is displayed on a video screen in a superimposed manner, a burn-in phenomenon is prevented from occurring in a menu background area of the OSD screen or a boundary portion between a menu background area and a menu phrase. For example, each time the OSD screen is displayed, the OSD screen is moved by one pixel and then displayed. Movement of the display position of the OSD screen is implemented by an instruction from an OSD display position control unit 215.

  • Publication number: 20140198193
Abstract: To appropriately prevent a burn-in phenomenon when a still image such as an OSD screen is displayed on a display panel. When a menu screen is displayed on a video screen in a superimposed manner, a menu phrase in at least one of a left-eye video and a right-eye video is deleted on a menu background area. A time period in which a brightness difference between still pixels in a boundary between a menu background area and a menu phrase remains large is reduced, and thus the occurrence of the burn-in phenomenon can be prevented. However, the menu background area is constantly displayed without being deleted, so that screen flickering does not occur.

  • Patent number: 8780273
Abstract: There is a signal processing apparatus, including a gamma correction circuit that performs gamma correction on an input luminance signal and generates an output luminance signal, an output-to-input ratio calculation circuit that calculates a ratio of the output luminance signal to the input luminance signal as an output-to-input ratio of a luminance signal, and a color difference correction circuit that multiplies an input color difference signal by the output-to-input ratio of the luminance signal and generates an output color difference signal. As a result, by correcting the input color difference signal using the output-to-input ratio of the luminance signal, the output color difference signal in which color difference correction has been performed in view of influence of gamma correction can be generated.
