    Abstract: In a method of forming a patterned thin film, first, an etching stopper film and a film to be patterned are formed in this order on a base layer. Next, a patterned first film is formed on the film to be patterned. Next, a second film is formed over an entire surface on top of the film to be patterned and the first film. Then, by removing the first film, an etching mask is obtained from the second film formed on the film to be patterned. The film to be patterned is selectively etched through dry etching using the etching mask. A patterned thin film having a groove is thereby obtained.

This control valve is a pressure control valve to adjust the pressure of hydrogen to be supplied. The hydrogen supply valve is operated by an apparatus of the type capable of adjusting the lift and the valve timing. In this engine, the hydrogen to be supplied to the combustion chamber is controlled on the basis of control signals corresponding to load conditions by both the pressure control valve and the hydrogen supply valve under at least one of either the low-load condition or the high-load condition, and substantially only by the pressure control valve under an intermediate-load condition.

    Abstract: Rocker arm clearance removing device wherein a hydraulic adjuster applies torque to a pressure bearing surface at right angles thereto on a curved outwardly extending pressure bearing arm of an eccentric cam which eccentrically supports the rocker arm. Rotation of the rocker arm resulting from the torque causes the rocker arm to come into pressure contact with a valve operating cam and an intake or exhaust valve. An engaging piece can be provided radially extending from the eccentric cam circumferentially spaced from the pressure bearing arm for engaging a swivel stop on the case of the hydraulic adjuster to limit swinging of the eccentric cam and rocker arm during assembly. An arm stopper can also be provided on the case of the hydraulic adjuster to prevent swinging of cam and rocker arm in the opposite direction during assembly.

The cylinder is received in the hollow mounting member and snugly fitted in the lower tubular portion of the mounting member against movement.

A secondary air control valve is positioned in the secondary air supply passage for regulating the flow of secondary air therethrough. The secondary air control valve comprises a unitary valve casing, a valve passage in the valve casing coupled to the secondary air supply passage, and first and second control valves for separately opening and closing the valve passages. The first control valve is closed when the engine is decelerating and the second control valve is closed when the engine is accelerating or operating at high speed, thereby maintaining the TWC catalyst as a reducing atmosphere.
