  • Patent number: 8346306
Abstract: A suspend control apparatus, disposed in an electronic device having a SIM card, includes a control unit that switches the state of the SIM card between a suspended state and a resumed state. The control unit determines, based on the state of SIM card access for data communication and the state of the SIM card when the data communication occurs, whether to give priority to SIM card access or switching to the suspended state, and sets the state of the SIM card accordingly.

  • Patent number: 5344725
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sealed lead acid storage battery comprising a multi-cell type monoblock battery container comprising cell chambers in each of which groups of electrode plates of the same shape are contained, and the positive and negative electrode poles at the upper portions of the groups of electrode plates are all arranged on the same side of cell chambers. Especially, all of the positive and negative electrode poles at the upper portions of the groups of electrode plates in the monoblock battery container, in which the cell chambers are arranged in two parallel rows, are arranged on the same side near the central partition, and the electrode poles of adjacent cell chambers are connected by cell connectors which cross over the partitions between the adjacent cell chambers in the battery container.

  • Patent number: 5056916
Abstract: An optical axis adjusting system comprises at least one lighting unit such as a vehicle's head lamp unit, and at least one optical instrument. The lighting unit comprises a housing having a reflector, and a lens having first and second portions which are positioned so that the first and second portions intersect, respectively, imaginery first and second straight lines that are parallel to the optical axis of the lighting unit and symmetrical with respect to the optical axis. The optical instrument has a light projecting unit for projecting a light beam such as a laser beam to the reflector through the first portion of the lens, and a light receiving unit for receiving a reflected beam reflected from the reflector and transmitted through the second portion of the lens. The lighting unit has at least one adjusting screw by which the aim of the lighting unit is adjusted so that reflected beam is correctly received by the receiving unit.

  • Patent number: 4678725
Abstract: A hermetically sealed storage battery has a group of plates sheathed with a housing which is constituted by a synthetic resin film or sheet that is resistant to the electrolyte and is heat-weldable. Portions of the housing which surround the periphery of the group of plates are formed into a sealing portion by heat-welding together films or sheets of the type described above. A pair of terminal pieces protrude from the group of plates through the sealing portion. Part of the sealing portion is provided with safety valve which is constituted by an adhesion portion formed by portions of the films or sheets which are overlaid one upon the other. Thus it is possible to provide a hermetically sealed storage battery which has a simplified housing structure and which is capable of smoothly discharging any gas to the outside when there is an increase in the cell's internal pressure.
