  • Patent number: 6400073
Abstract: A double-faced fluorescent display tube is provided which is capable of reducing the insulation failure and breaking of wiring patterns and capable of improving a luminous efficiency by reducing an ineffective current of an anode. An envelope 1 comprises a back substrate 2 and a front substrate 3 facing each other and a frame-like side plate sealed between the substrates 2 and 3. A wiring pattern 13 is formed on the inner surface of the front substrate 3. A transparent anode conductor 14 is connected to the wiring pattern 13. A phosphor layer 15 is formed on the anode conductor 14. A control electrode 17 is disposed at a predetermined distance away from the phosphor layer 15. An exposed portion of the wiring pattern 13 on the front substrate 3 is covered with a transparent and insulating SiO2 film 19.

  • Patent number: 4216470
Abstract: A luminescent display device for analog display having segment anodes provided linearly on a substrate and each coated with a luminescent material layer, the segment anodes being selectively given an anode voltage according to information inputted, a filament provided above the segment anodes for emitting thermions when heated, the thermions selectively impinging on the segment anodes so as to make them emit light, and conductors each provided above and opposite to a gap existing between every two adjacent segment anodes, the conductors being kept positive with respect to the filament. The conductors provide a control for the anode field which prevents the "shade" phenomenon from occurring on the anodes.

  • Patent number: 4190787
Abstract: A phosphorus luminescent display tube of the triode type having, in a vacuum casing, a filamentary cathode for emitting thermions, a control electrode for accelerating and controlling the thermions emitted from the cathode, a plurality of pattern display sections each composed of a plurality of segment anodes each coated with a phosphor layer for emitting light when the thermions impinge thereon, the segment anodes being selectively given an anode potential, and auxiliary anode conductors provided in the vicinity of and substantially on the same level with the segment anodes and kept positive with respect to the filamentary cathode so as to absorb electron oscillations occurring in the vicinity of the segment anodes to which the anode potential is not given.

  • Patent number: 4122376
Abstract: A multi-indicia fluorescent display tube having a casing formed of a base plate and a cover plate bonded together, a plurality of pattern display sections provided on the base plate and each composed of a plurality of segment anodes each having a fluorescent layer thereon, a cathode stretched opposite to the pattern display sections, shield-electrode layers for preventing electrification, etc. provided on the portions of the base plate in the vicinity of the segment anodes, and a diffusion electrode for levelling the density of electron current flowing from the cathode to each of the segment anodes during operation by the influence of a positive potential applied thereto with respect to the cathode potential, said diffusion electrode being provided on the portion of the inside surface of the cover plate opposite to the pattern display sections or in the vicinity of the inside surface of the cover plate.
