  • Publication number: 20050128517
Abstract: When starting a printing job, a host apparatus instructs a printer to change to an occupied state in order to minimize a downtime between jobs. After the printer changes to the occupied state in response to an instruction from the host apparatus, and the host apparatus finishes transmission of the printing job, the host apparatus instructs the printer to change to a vacated state without waiting for a printing completion notification from the printer. The printer changes to the vacated state in response to an instruction from the host apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20040190054
Abstract: Image data for a page having an amount of data exceeding the capacity of a printer memory is suitably output. A comparison is made among areas of buffer management blocks (TIME) in four data queues in which cyan, magenta, yellow, and black image data commands are stored. Then, the image data command having the earliest time is selected and is transferred to a printer. As a result, the image data is transferred in the order in which it is to be output in the printer.

  • Publication number: 20040184079
Abstract: Upon transmission of compressed code data for respective printing color components from an information processing apparatus such as a host computer to a printing apparatus, a reception buffer memory of the printing apparatus can be effectively utilized. For this purpose, a printer driver repetitively receives drawing data regarding printing from higher processing and performs drawing. When an end of page command has been received, the drawn image data is converted to printing color component data, and a ratio of data amounts for the respective printing color components is notified to the printing apparatus based on predicted code amounts upon compression of the image data for the respective printing color components, such that the printing apparatus determines ring buffer sizes of the reception buffer memory allocated for respective color components. Then, the code data for the respective printing color components is outputted.

  • Patent number: 6791705
Abstract: This invention has as its object to achieve high-speed data transfer using an asynchronous transfer interface. An encoding program encodes source data not to include byte data of a predetermined value. An arithmetic operation program EX-ORs the predetermined value, encoded data of interest, and immediately preceding output data so that neighboring data do not have identical values in units of bytes, and outputs the result as output data. A communication program sends the output data to a printer (7). In the printer (7), a clock is generated based on a change in received data, and received data is latched and decoded in synchronism with the clock.

  • Patent number: 6785424
Abstract: On the basis of a bit sequence of a given command code, it is determined to which of repetition, copying and raw-data substitution the bit sequence applies. Based upon the result of the determination made, the data lengths of each of repetition, copying and raw data are calculated. In accordance with the calculations, at least two results from among results of repetition, copying and raw-data substitution of the encoding are combined and encoded as a command of one byte.

  • Publication number: 20030107753
Abstract: This invention has as its object to efficiently encode an image. To this end, for example, an image undergoes a color reduction process using a dither matrix with a predetermined size. A print control command is output. A compression parameter designation command that designates an up copy vertical offset value (a value according to the matrix size), a near left copy horizontal offset value (a value according to the matrix size), and a far left copy horizontal offset value (a value according to the period of background patterns), which are used in encoding, is output. Image data is encoded according to an encoding sequence.

  • Patent number: 4648915
Abstract: A billet made of a polycrystalline Mn-Al-C alloy magnet which is obtained by plastically deforming a Mn-Al-C alloy for magnet such as by extrusion at a temperature of 530.degree. to 830.degree. C. is used for compressive working. When the billet is hollow, it is entirely or locally compressed along the axis of the hollow billet. On the other hand, when the billet is solid, an outer circumferential portion of the billet is compressed. By the compression, the anisotropic structure of the portion where compressed is changed into an anisotropic structure having a direction of easy magnetization in radial directions. The magnet obtained by the method is also disclosed. The magnet has a radially anisotropic structure or novel structures having two different types of anisotropies therein.
