  • Patent number: 6157399
Abstract: This invention relates to a color image recording apparatus, which once records an image on an intermediate sheet by means of a recording means, and then transcribe the recorded image on any desired recording sheet. Where, in the step of recording on the dye depositing layer of intermediate sheet, the color image is recorded for a length longer than that the sheet holding body can hold the intermediate sheet at one time by repeating the process cycle of multi color-recording with the intermediate sheet held sticking fast on the sheet holding body and releasing of the intermediate sheet from the tight holding; and then the dye depositing layer carrying the recorded image is transcribed on any desired recording sheet. In doing this way, snaking motion and slipping of the intermediate sheet are prevented, heat shrinkage of the intermediate sheet is curtailed to produce a quality color image having precise alignment of color positioning on any desired recording sheet.

  • Patent number: 4359752
Abstract: A recording apparatus which uses magneto-fluidic material comprising a magnetic multi-stylus head arranged in parallel to oppose a recording plane, a magnet fixed to the multi-stylus head near a tip end thereof, apparatus for supplying magneto-fluidic material to at least one point of the magnet and apparatus for causing the magneto-fluidic material on the multi-stylus to selectively be flung, wherein a plurality of areas of concentration of lines of magnetic force are formed on at least one of outer surfaces of the magnet in order to stabilize the supply of the magneto-fluidic material for the comsumption of the magneto-fluidic material on the multi-stylus head due to the flying of the magneto-fluidic material.

  • Patent number: 4315267
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for nozzleless magnetofluidic recording are disclosed in which a magnetofluidic material is arranged on the surface of a support member disposed oppositely to a recording surface, and by applying a magnetic force to the magnetofluidic material, the magnetofluidic material is protruded on the support member. Further, the magnetofluidic material is subjected to a coulomb force or a magnetic force and transferred from the protruded part to the recording surface, thereby producing an image on the recording surface.

  • Patent number: 4258371
Abstract: An image recording apparatus comprising an array of styli regularly electrically connected at intervals of an integer of styli and an array of opposite electrodes each of which is disposed opposite to a plurality of styli, and either the styli or the opposite electrodes are made of a magnetic material. A protuberance of a magnetofluidic material, which is called magnetic ink herein, is formed on the tip of each stylus or each opposite electrode of magnetic material. A pluse signal having a constant frequency is applied in dot sequential fashion to one of the stylus array and the opposite electrode array, and a signal corresponding to an image is applied to the other, so that the protuberances of the magnetic ink formed on the selected styli or opposite electrodes in the stylus array and opposite electrode array applied with the two signals simultaneously fly toward a recording surface to obtain a desired image thereon.

  • Patent number: 4258080
Abstract: The resistivity of an n-type metal oxide semiconductor such as SnO.sub.2, In.sub.2 O.sub.3 or ZnO is lowered by treating the metal oxide with a metal halide such as SnX.sub.2 or SbX.sub.3, in which the oxidation number of the metal is smaller than the largest oxidation number the metal can take, so as to allow the metal oxide to generally uniformly come into contact with the metal halide. The treatment can be done at room temperature by, for example, the use of a solution of the metal halide and does not cause discoloration of the treated metal oxide. This process is applicable also to a conductive material comprising as its essential component at least one n-type metal oxide semiconductor.

  • Patent number: 4133933
Abstract: An electrosensitive recording sheet consists of an electroconductive material of cuprous iodide, an electrosensitive color forming material, a binder and a support. A color forms in the recording sheet in response to an electric signal when an electric current flows therein. The cuprous iodide is whitened by adding an alkaline substance thereto, so as to only slightly increase the resistance of the cuprous iodide and to increase the contrast of recorded mark and the ordinary appearance of the recording sheet.

  • Patent number: RE29427
Abstract: A recording paper having a color-developing layer containing a component capable of being colored or discolored by application of heat which has been made electroconductive by incorporation of an electro-conductive substance. When an electric current is applied to the color-developing layer, the recording paper selectively gives a visible record at a portion of the color-developing layer to which the electric current has been applied.
