  • Patent number: 7925701
Abstract: According to a method of sharing information between mobile terminals, a first mobile terminal receives information, such as a web page, which may include form data, and shares the information with one or more second mobile terminals. Input data relevant to the shared information as entered at the second mobile terminals is returned to the first mobile terminal, which consolidates that data with related input data entered at the first mobile terminal. Consolidated information may be sent from the first mobile terminal to the second mobile terminal(s), so that each of the mobile terminals maintains updated consolidated input data, and this process may be repeated as needed. In at least one embodiment, the information to be shared is provided by a third party information provider, and the first mobile terminal is configured to return the finally consolidated data to the third party information provider.

  • Publication number: 20070143218
Abstract: A multimedia-enabled device reports usage of multimedia content by the device to a remote system associated with the multimedia content. For example, the multimedia-enabled device maintains usage data at a multimedia-enabled device by tracking usage of multimedia content received from or associated with a content provider and reports the usage data to the content provider. In one or more embodiments, the multimedia-enabled device comprises a usage monitoring processor configured to maintain usage data at the multimedia-enabled device by tracking usage of multimedia content received from or associated with a content provider and report the usage data to the content provider. For example, the content provider may comprise an electronic system, such as a web server, that includes an information usage processor configured to associate usage metrics derived from collected usage data with the corresponding content. The availability of usage metrics, for example, can be used to guide prospective content users.

  • Publication number: 20060136224
Abstract: Methods of processing signals received at wireless communications devices are provided. First and second audio signals are received from first and second sources, respectively, at the communications device. The first audio signal is assigned to a first speaker channel and the second audio signal is assigned to a different second speaker channel. Thus, sounds emanating from the communications device responsive to the first and second audio signals are perceivably dimensionally separate from one another. Related wireless communications devices are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060083194
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for rendering multimedia data received by a wireless communications device via a wireless communications network over one or more external multimedia rendering devices. In one embodiment, the present invention receives multimedia data that includes image and audio data from one or more remote parties over the network. A controller in the wireless communications device distinguishes between the received image and audio data. Rather than display the received data on the device display, the controller controls a short-range transceiver to redirect the image data to an external display device for display. Likewise, the controller also controls the short-range transceiver to transmit the received audio data to an external audio device for rendering as audible sound over a speaker. The short-range transceiver transmits the image and audio data to their respective external multimedia rendering devices via one or more short-range interfaces.

  • Patent number: 6826397
Abstract: A telecommunications system and method is disclosed for notifying a called subscriber of call terminating treatment applied by the network to calls unable to be completed to the called subscriber at the terminal associated with the originally dialed called party number. When a call to a called subscriber is not completed to the called subscriber, the network logs call information, such as the calling party number, calling party name (if available) and the date and time the call was received. In addition, the network also logs call treatment information, such as the called party number that the call was forwarded to, an indication of whether or not the call was completed to the forwarded to number, an indication that the network was busy or an indication that the called mobile subscriber could not be located. This call information and call treatment information is later provided to the called subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20040198329
Abstract: A method of operation enables a mobile station or other wireless communication device to query a supporting wireless communication network for directory listing information associated with a phone number specified by the query. Preferably, the mobile station issues the query using short-messaging services (SMS) or other text messaging facilities supported by the network and may specify a desired data format as part of its query. The network returns a short-messaging response to the mobile station that includes one or more data items, such as directory listing information, associated with the specified phone number. The range of information returned may be altered or expanded to include promotional information, coupons, sales notices, etc., where the queried number is a commercial listing. The mobile station may initiate such queries responsive to the user dialing a number, as part of updating stored contact lists, or based on the user's initiation.

  • Patent number: 5915218
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling a call connection between a calling and a called party via a roamer port is disclosed. When a calling party attempts to contact the mobile station via the roamer port, a determination is made as to whether or not the home location register associated with the mobile station accepts calls from the roamer port by accessing the database prior to attempted connections. Upon indicating that the home location register does not accept calls from the roamer port, call connection is discontinued.
