  • Publication number: 20140128252
Abstract: [Problem] Many oxide-ion conductors exhibit high functionality at high temperatures due to the large weight and charge of oxide ions, and it has been difficult to achieve the functionality at low temperatures. [Solution] A perovskite oxide having hydride ion conductivity, at least 1 at % of the oxide ions (O2?) contained in a titanium-containing perovskite oxide being substituted with hydride ions (H?). This oxide, in which negatively charged hydride ions (H?) are used for the ionic conduction, has both hydride ion conductivity and electron conductivity. As a starting material, the titanium-containing perovskite oxide is kept together with a powder of an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal hydride selected from LiH, CaH2, SrH2, and BaH2 in a temperature range of 300° C. or higher and lower than the melting point of the hydride in a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere to substitute some of the oxide ions in the oxide with the hydride ions, resulting in the introduction of the hydride ions into oxygen sites.

  • Patent number: 7931316
Abstract: In a vehicle bumper structure, an optical fiber sensor (32) is provided on the upper portion of the front surface of a front wall portion (30A) of a front-bumper reinforcement (30). A front-bumper absorber (28) is provided before the optical fiber sensor (32) and a load transfer plate (34) is disposed between the front-bumper absorber (28) and the optical fiber sensor (32). The vertical width (B3) of the front-bumper absorber (28) and the load transfer plate (34) are greater than the vertical width (B1) of the optical fiber sensor (32), and a lower end portion (34A) of the load transfer plate (34) extends below the lower end of the optical fiber sensor (32). Accordingly, when the optical fiber sensor (32) is offset to the upper portion of the front-bumper reinforcement (30), the front-bumper absorber (28) will not topple down and the impact load is input to the optical fiber sensor (32) even if the input direction of the impact load is slightly inclined.

  • Patent number: 7352846
Abstract: A coiled filament for an X-ray tube has a varied coil pitch to obtain a good uniformity of the longitudinal temperature distribution. The filament has a central region including plural turns having a same coil pitch, and end regions which include plural turns each of which has a coil pitch smaller than the coil pitch of the central region. The coil pitches of the plural turns of the end regions are reduced one by one by a same variation from a turn close to the central region toward an outermost turn. A value of ?p/p is within a range of 0.015 to 0.1 and k/n is within a range of 0.3 to 0.8, where p is the coil pitch of the central region, ?p is the coil pitch variation of the end regions, n is a total number of turns of the filament, and k is a sum of numbers of turns of the end regions. The k/n preferably satisfies the following equation: k/n=0.72?4.66(?p/p)±0.12.

  • Patent number: 7271530
Abstract: A filament for an X-ray tube has a varied wire diameter but has a constant coil outside diameter to obtain a good uniformity of the longitudinal temperature distribution of the filament. The filament has a wire diameter d which is gradually reduced from the longitudinal central region to the longitudinal ends while the coil outside diameter D is fixed along the longitudinal direction. The wire is polished at only the inside of the coil to reduce the wire diameter. In order to make the longitudinal temperature distribution uniform as far as possible, the difference ?d between the wire diameter dmax at the longitudinal central region and the wire diameter dmin at the longitudinal ends should satisfy the following limitation: ?d/dmax=0.041 to 0.145.

  • Patent number: 5483918
Abstract: A silicon single crystal for use as semiconductor is grown by supplying, to a seed rod of single-crystal silicon, hydrochloride gas and silicon formed by admixing at least one chlorosilane gas selected from the group consisting of dichlorosilane, trichlorosilane and tetrachlorosilane with hydrogen gas at a high temperature to grow single-crystal silicon on the seed rod while etching the growing single-crystal silicon with the hydrochloride gas. The silicon single crystal is irradiated with laser rays so that the energy of the laser rays on the irradiated surface of the crystal ranges from 3100 to 3358 mW/cm.sup.2 and then spectra emitted by the crystal are optoelectrically determined to quantify the ultratrace elements present in the silicon single crystal. Moreover, the amounts of these ultratrace elements are reduced to those of ultratrace elements present in the chlorosilane gas.
