  • Patent number: 10345442
Abstract: A collision possibility determination device includes: a detection unit which detects at least one object which moves relatively with respect to a moving body; and a determination unit which determines a collision possibility of the moving body with the object. The determination unit defines a first factor and a second factor which are spaces between the body and the object in a travelling direction and in a width direction of the body respectively. The determination unit determines the possibility based on the two factors when the object is within a farther area from the body, and the possibility based on only the first factor when the object is within a nearer area from the body.

  • Patent number: 9815459
Abstract: A classification determining unit determines classification of a stationary object that is detected by a stationary object detecting unit. In a case where it is determined that the stationary object is another vehicle, a judgment condition easing unit enlarges a margin area that is used when determining the need for collision avoidance support. When the margin area is enlarged, the probability for a user's own vehicle to interfere with the margin area increases. Stated otherwise, it becomes easier for a collision avoidance determining unit to determine that the collision avoidance support is needed.

  • Patent number: 9582886
Abstract: An object recognition device includes: a radar that detects objects in the vicinity of a vehicle a camera that detects objects by capturing an image of the vicinity of the vehicle an identical object recognition unit configured to recognize that an object detected by the radar and an object detected by the camera are the same object when the objects are present within a predetermined position range. The identical object recognition unit determines whether the objects are the same object by reducing the predetermined position range when detection using the radar device or the camera is interrupted and then detection is started again.

  • Patent number: 9170329
Abstract: A roadside object present at the side of a subject vehicle travel path and a preceding vehicle at a speed equal to or greater than a predetermined speed are detected based on points derived by transmitting an electromagnetic beam forward of the subject vehicle and projecting reflection points obtained onto a two-dimensional plane, a determination is made when the preceding vehicle passes near the roadside object as to whether it moved toward the travel path within a predetermined time before and after the passage, and the roadside object is not determined to be the obstacle when it is determined to have moved toward the travel path, thereby preventing the roadside object from being misidentified as the obstacle owing to erroneous recognition of it having intruded into the travel path of the subject vehicle when detecting the object using an electromagnetic beam.
