  • Patent number: 5902870
Abstract: A method for making (meth)acryloxy-functional organosilicon compounds comprising conducting an addition reaction between(A) an acrylate ester or methacrylate ester of an aliphatically unsaturated alcohol and(B) a SiH-functional organosilicon compound in the presence of(C) a hydrosilylation-reaction catalyst and(D) a compound described by general formula ##STR1## where A is a (N,N-dialkylamino)alkyl and R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group or a hydrogen atom. The presence of component (D) in the present method inhibits the generation of reaction by-products and prevents gelation during the addition reaction and very efficiently produces high-purity (meth)acryloxy-functional organosilicon compounds in high yields.

  • Patent number: 5789611
Abstract: An method for the synthesis of high-purity (meth)acryloxy-functional organosilicon compounds in which the generation of reaction by-products is inhibited and gelation of the reaction product does not occur comprising an addition reaction between(A) an acrylate ester or methacrylate ester of an aliphatically unsaturated alcohol and(B) a SiH-functional organosilicon compound in the presence of(C) a hydrosilylation-reaction catalyst and(D) a special type of compound such as the zinc salt of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5241032
Abstract: A method for the preparation of an organopolysiloxane comprising polymerizing at least one organosiloxane in the presence of a strong acid catalyst, and subsequently neutralizing said catalyst by the addition of a neutralizing agent, is disclosed wherein the neutralizing agent is ammonia gas. The invention leads to a substantial abbreviation in the neutralization time and, because it affords a nearly complete neutralization of the acid catalyst, the method provides an organopolysiloxane which has excellent heat resistance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 18, 1992
Date of Patent: August 31, 1993
Assignee: Dow Corning Toray Silicone Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Kazuo Kobayashi, Yokichi Yamamoto
  • Patent number: 5145934
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of neutralizing acids in organopolysiloxanes. The method comprises adding certain ammonium compounds to the organopolysiloxanes and heating to the decomposition temperature of the ammonium compound to neutralize any acids present in the organopolysiloxanes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 1990
Date of Patent: September 8, 1992
Assignee: Dow Corning Toray Silicone Company
    Inventors: Kazuo Kobayashi, Yokichi Yamamoto
  • Patent number: 4145506
Abstract: Packing materials for gas chromatography columns are disclosed. The columns can be used to separate polar compounds with low boiling points. The packing materials, which consist mainly of particulate RSiO.sub.3/2 resin, where R is alkyl, aryl or alkenyl, have excellent separation efficiencies.
