Abstract: A hard surface cleaning composition for removing cooked-, baked- or burnt-on soils from cookware and tableware, the composition comprising a soil swelling agent and a spreading auxiliary and wherein the composition has a liquid surface tension of less than about 24.5 mN/m and a pH as measured in a 10% solution in distilled water of at least 10.5. The composition can be used as pre-treatment prior to the dishwashing process. The composition provides excellent removal of polymerised grease from metal and glass substrates.

Abstract: A method of predicting compensation data includes obtaining compensation data, associated with a job category, with at least one datum being associated with each of a plurality of characteristics associated with the job category, determining values of factors, associated with respective ones of the caracteristics, and a base value that when used as operands of a function yield estimates of the obtained data such that relationships between the estimates and corresponding obtained compensation data satisfy at least one criterion, and using a portion of the values of factors and the base value by a computer to automatically obtain estimates of compensation data.

Abstract: A semiconductor device having a measuring pattern that enhances measuring reliability and a method of measuring the semiconductor device using the measuring pattern. The semiconductor device includes a semiconductor substrate having a chip area in which an integrated circuit is formed, and a scribe area surrounding the chip area. The semiconductor device also includes a measuring pattern formed in the scribe area and having a surface sectional area to include a beam area in which measuring beams are projected, and a dummy pattern formed in the measuring pattern to reduce the surface sectional area of the measuring pattern. The surface sectional area of the dummy pattern occupies from approximately 5% to approximately 15% of a surface sectional area of the beam area.

Abstract: A synthesis method of alanyl-glutamine includes the steps of: The N-terminal protected alanine reacts with triphenylphosphine and hexachloroethane in organic solvent to form active ester, the active ester reacts with glutamine in a solution mixture containing organic solvent and aqueous solution of inorganic base, the resultant mixture is acidified with inorganic acid, and then the N-terminal protecting group is removed. In this method, the raw materials are cheap, the synthesis technique is simple, no disposals of separation and purification are needed, the product is easy to be separated and purified, the toxicities of all the reagents used in the course of production are minimal, it is advantageous to environment protection.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a delay locked loop including: a frequency doubler for increasing the output frequency from an input buffer for buffering a clock; a variable delay line for delaying the output from the frequency doubler; a divider for restoring the output frequency from the variable delay line to the frequency of the clock by dividing the output frequency; an output buffer for buffering the output from the divider; a replica for delaying the output from the variable delay line; a phase detector for detecting a phase difference between the output from the replica and the output from the frequency doubler; and a control circuit for determining a delay amount of the variable delay line according to the output from the phase detector.

Abstract: A method of measuring a paper size using a paper feeder having a fixedly mounted body part and a fastener apparatus movable depending on the paper size includes receiving light reflected from the body part with respect to an amount of a sent light, measuring the amount of the received light, and extracting information on a paper size corresponding to the measured amount of light from stored information. The extracted information of the paper size can be transmitted to a display unit, so that a user can recognize the information.

Abstract: An instant gazebo is provided which is movable between an open and closed position quickly and which is side supported to allow maximum flexibility for placement of furniture in the gazebo. The gazebo includes an openable and closable canopy to which is connected a screen enclosure which extends completely around the periphery of the canopy. The screen enclosure may remain attached to the canopy in both the open and closed positions of the gazebo. The preferred actuation mechanism for the gazebo includes an elongated curved support arm which slides through a hollow sleeve carried at the top of a supporting mast. The support arm slides through the hollow sleeve as the gazebo is opened or closed. After the support arm is raised by the user, a hand crank is actuated to open the canopy. A rotatable mast support allows the gazebo to be easily rotated about the axis of the mast.

Abstract: Disclosed is a program recommendation system and method which receive PSIP/SI and programming information on digital broadcasting and provide a program recommendation service to viewers in an EPG application. The system receives personal information in order to set information of each viewer, confirms the received PSIP/SI information, and generates watching information through a viewer watching TV, in a predetermined format. In addition, the system inputs the generated watching information to a database, converts watching information of each viewer which is stored in the database input unit into divided input patterns using a fuzzy membership function to analyze the input patterns, and extracts information on a program with a high degree of preference from the analyzed result. Furthermore the system outputs preference program information of each viewer on a screen in order to recommend a program.

Abstract: Disclosed is a novel vaccine against Escherichia coli (E. coli) responsible for urinary tract infections. The vaccine is a recombinant chimeric protein which is prepared by linking by genetic recombination a gene encoding an antigenic determinant of uropathogenic E. coli to a CTXA2B gene encoding nontoxic A2 and B subunits of Vibrio cholerae cholera toxin (CTX) or a LTXA2B gene encoding nontoxic A2 and B subunits of E. coli heat-labile enterotoxin, wherein a translation product of the CTXA2B or LTXA2B gene serves as an immunogenic adjuvant stimulating mucosal immune responses, expressing the resulting recombinant gene in E. coli, and isolating and purifying an expressed recombinant fusion protein. The recombinant chimeric protein is useful as an oral vaccine with mild side effects and excellent vaccination efficiency against uropathogenic E. coli.

Abstract: The lithographic process described herein involves aligning a patterned mold with respect to an alignment mark that is disposed on a substrate based upon interaction of a scanning probe with the alignment mark. By this method, the patterned mold may be aligned to an atomic accuracy (e.g., on the order of 10 nm or less), enabling nanometer-scale devices to be fabricated. A device formed by this lithographic method and a system for implementing this lithographic method with alignment also are described.

Abstract: The invention describes a sensor mechanism for measuring hitch articulation angle. A configuration of the contact face between hitch ball and receiver eliminates the effect of the unwanted trailer motions, such as roll and pitch while accurately registering trailer yaw motion. Also, there is no yaw slippage at the contact that was a major problem during the successive acceleration and brake maneuvers. With the freely rotating ball and shaft, the angle is measured using an angle sensor, such as an optical encoder, potentiometer, or other means. For the case of a relative angle sensor, automatic zero angle calibration can be used to allow an absolute angle measurement.
