Abstract: In a medical imaging apparatus, system and a method for displaying medical images, an image display unit and an image reconstruction unit are virtual machines running on a single physical computer. The image reconstruction unit receives medical imaging data and reconstructing a medical image based on the medical imaging data. The image display unit displays the medical image. Multiple physical computers in a medical imaging apparatus are thereby concentrated in a single physical computer with the use of virtualization technology, thereby enabling costs to be reduced significantly and the system to be simplified, increasing the system maintenance efficiency.
