    Abstract: A refrigerator door having a dispenser is disclosed. The refrigerator door includes an outer case forming a front appearance of the refrigerator door, an inner case forming a rear appearance of the refrigerator door, and an insulation layer disposed between the outer case and the inner case. First and second mounting frames are installed at both side ends of the refrigerator door and have first and second mounting slots longitudinally formed in the first and second mounting frames in opposition to each other. The dispenser is detachably coupled to a front surface of the outer case and includes a housing, which forms an external appearance of the dispenser and is formed with a recess section. An external plate section is coupled to the front surface of the outer case except for an area in which the dispenser is installed, forming an external appearance of the refrigerator door.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to open-close equipment for a door of a refrigerator wherein a pair of doors are provided and opened or closed individually or integrally at a time. The open-close equipment of the present invention comprises right and left doors 60 and 70 for opening and closing each storage space 52 defined in a main body 50 of the refrigerator; a fixed hinge 62 provided at a right end of the right door 60 and serving as a pivot center of the right door 60; and a movable hinge 72 provided at a left end of the right door 70 and serving as a selective pivot center of the right door 70. Further, the right and left doors 60 and 70 are either pivoted individually on the fixed and movable hinges 62 and 72, respectively, or pivoted integrally and simultaneously on the fixed hinge 62 such that the doors are opened and closed. According to the present invention so configured, there are advantages in that convenience of use of the refrigerator is improved and electric power consumption is reduced.

The upper filter housing has an inlet, an outlet, an inflow passage and an outflow passage. The lower filter passage is detachably combined with the upper filter housing and holds a filter element for purifying water supplied through the inflow passage of the upper filter housing. The valve has a first passage hole, a second passage hole and a third passage hole so as to selectively connect the inlet to the outlet, and the inlet and the outlet respectively to the first inflow passage and the first outflow passage. The passage control lever is fixedly connected at its one end to the valve so as to rotate the valve for the selective connection of the valve.

    Abstract: A method for controlling the purified water passage of a refrigerator with a water purifying filter is disclosed. The refrigerator has a first valve for controlling water supply to the water purifying filter and a second valve for controlling water supply to a dispenser and an ice-making unit. The method comprises the following steps. A first step is determining whether the dispenser and the ice-making unit are operated. A second step is opening the first and second valves if the dispenser and the ice-making unit are operated. A third step is determining whether a refrigerator compartment door and a freezer compartment door are closed if one of the dispenser and the ice-making unit is operated. A fourth step is closing the first and second valves if at least one of the refrigerator compartment door and the freezer compartment door is opened. A fifth step is closing the first and second valves if the dispenser and the ice-making unit are not operated.
