  • Patent number: 6274273
Abstract: Disclosed is a positive active material for a rechargeable lithium battery having a higher concentration of Co in the surface portion than in the central portion. The surface portion is a region from the outermost surface to a depth of 10 microns. The positive active material is represented Li1+xMn2−yCoyO4 wherein −0.1<x0.1 and 0<y<0.1. The positive active material is produced by obtaining a sol or gel cobalt material by mixing lithium salts, cobalt salts, an alcohol and chelating agents and heating the mixture, mixing the sol or gel cobalt material with LiMn2O4, and heat-treating the resulting mixture.

  • Patent number: 6241959
Abstract: A lithium composite oxide (LiaNi(1−x−y)CoxMyO2, where M is at least one metal atom selected from the group consisting of Al, Ca, Mg and B, a=0.97˜1.05, x=0.1˜0.3, and y=0˜0.05), prepared by a method including the steps of: (a) coprecipitating a Ni—Co composite hydroxide by adding an aqueous ammonia solution as a complexing agent, and an alkaline solution as a pH-adjusting agent, to an aqueous mixed solution containing a cobalt salt and a nickel salt; (b) adding lithium hydroxide to the composite hydroxide and thermally treating the mixture at 280˜420° C.; and (c) thermally treating the resultant of the step (b) at 650˜750° C. The average particle diameter of the lithium composite oxide decreases, or the tap density thereof increases, depending on the coprecipitation time. When the lithium composite oxide is used as a positive electrode active material, a lithium ion secondary cell having a high capacity can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5748231
Abstract: A digital image stabilization device receives correlation data generated from a plurality of local motion estimation areas and adaptively decides a motion vector according to irregular image environment. To do this, statistical variables and local motion vector are generated to check reliability by checking correlation values generated from each local motion estimation area. Then, it is determined that there is irregular image data deteriorating reliability of local motion vector, by analyzing statistical variables. Here, the irregular image environment can be in an image signal with low contrast, an image signal with a moving object, an image signal with repeated motion, etc. Also, isolativity and stability are obtained by analyzing local motion vector and a weight signal is generated with a predefined rate according to a computed result.
