  • Patent number: 10327314
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for integrated remote control of wireless lighting devices and wireless electric/electronic devices in a wireless network environment. In the wireless network environment, a management server transmits a lighting control command and a device control command for individually driving and controlling wireless lighting devices and wireless electric/electronic devices to the wireless lighting devices on a main wireless node (i.e., first wireless node) over a communication network. Therefore, a user can wirelessly and remotely drive and control various wireless electric/electronic devices as well as wireless lighting devices through the management server without time and place constrains.

  • Patent number: 7822153
Abstract: An automatic gain control (AGC) apparatus of a wireless mobile terminal, and method, in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system. A gain amplifier controls an amplification gain of received analog symbols. An analog-to-digital converter converts the received analog symbols into a digital signal. A fast Fourier transform (FFT) unit converts the digital signal into a frequency-domain signal. A power measurer measures power in the frequency domain in units of sub-carriers. A sub-carrier power accumulator detects a sub-carrier carrying a signal, and accumulates its power value. A sub-carrier average power measurer estimates an average power value transmitted per sub-carrier from the accumulated power value. A control means compares the estimated average power value with a reference power value, and generates a control signal used for controlling a gain of the gain amplifier according to the comparison result.

  • Patent number: 7609609
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided to process a digital signal in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) wireless communication system. In the apparatus, a memory stores the number of subcarriers allocated to a mobile terminal and stores an inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) coefficient. A controller outputs a mode selection signal indicating a transmission mode or a reception mode. An inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) block multiplies a first result obtained by determining a bitwidth for the IDFT coefficient according to the number of subcarriers by a second result obtained by determining a bitwidth for data according to the number of subcarriers.

  • Publication number: 20070147525
Abstract: A gain control apparatus of an interference cancellation receiver that performs interference cancellation in a frequency axis in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. A first signal power measurer measures first signal power of a received signal that was received from a base station and then underwent fast Fourier transform (FFT). A first range controller generates a first range control value for matching the first signal power to an operating point of the FFT-processed original signal. An FFT output buffer buffers the FFT-processed received signal. A second signal power measurer measures second signal power of a regenerated interference signal. A second range controller compares the first signal power with the second signal power, and generates a second range control value for controlling a gain of an output signal according to an operating point of a signal obtained by canceling the interference signal from the received signal output from the FFT output buffer.

  • Publication number: 20060223476
Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving antenna diversity in a receiver of a broadband wireless communication system using multiple antennas are provided. The receiver with the diversity apparatus uses a structure of multiple analog front ends, a structure for measuring antenna-by-antenna reception power values/Carrier-to-Interference plus Noise Ratios (CINRs) after Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) using a single analog front end, and a structure based on a single analog front end for measuring antenna-by-antenna reception power values after Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversion without use of FFT. When a receive antenna is selected, the measured reception power values/CINRs are used. In a system for transmitting pilot signals with preamble data in a regular pattern, the receiver can have improved performance through a suitable frequency modulation process and can be implemented at low cost, as compared with that of the conventional antenna selection diversity.

  • Patent number: 6580765
Abstract: An apparatus for recovering symbol timing in a CAP-based high-speed communication system such as an ADSL or VDSL, using a single-sided prefilter pair, in which timing information is obtained by means of the single-sided prefilter pair and a multiplier instead of a squaring unit used in general communication systems, for the recovery of accurate data, so that the symbol timing can be recovered through a digital signal process at a clock rate which is four times as high as a symbol transmission rate. According to the present invention, the single-sided prefilter pair and multiplier are used instead of the squaring unit spreading a frequency band. Therefore, the frequency band is not spread, so that the timing can be obtained with no signal overlapping due to sampling, although a sampling frequency is four times as high as a symbol frequency.
