  • Patent number: 9574800
Abstract: An absorption refrigeration system can include: an evaporator configured to evaporate a first refrigerant; an absorber configured to contain an absorbent solution and absorb the evaporated first refrigerant; a regenerator configured to regenerate the absorbent solution by heating the absorbent solution supplied from the absorber; a condenser configured to condense the first refrigerant evaporated in the regenerator; a cooler configured to circulate a second refrigerant inside the evaporator, where the second refrigerant is cooled in the evaporator by evaporation of the first refrigerant; a hot water storage tank configured to store hot water that is heated by absorbing heat from the absorber and the condenser; one or more hot water consumption units configured to receive the hot water from the hot water storage tank; and one or more cold air consumption units configured to receive cooled second refrigerant from the evaporator via the cooler.

  • Patent number: 5941085
Abstract: A refrigerator having an apparatus for defrosting. The refrigerator provides an apparatus for defrosting which uses a wasted heat from a compressor. The apparatus has a container placed on an upper surface of the compressor and an antifreezer solution for absorbing and storing the wasted heat from the compressor by performing a heat exchange. A pipe and a pump for circulating the fluid via a space section is provided. In the space section, the pipe is formed with a bending portion so as to transfer a heat to a surrounding air. In addition, a valve for preventing a high temperature air from flowing into a freezer compartment while a defrost operation is being carried out, and a plate for preventing a cabinet from being melted are provided.

  • Patent number: 5809799
Abstract: A refrigerator has a device for generating an air curtain for shutting off an opening of a cooling compartment, and plates are disposed at a cool air discharge port of the air curtain generating device. The plates control the discharging direction of the cool air according to the opening and closing of a door. When the door is opened, the air curtain for preventing the leakage of cool air is generated by the plates. When the door is closed, the cool air is supplied at the area adjacent to the door and the inner spaces of the pockets formed at the door. Thus the foodstuffs in the cooling compartment are rapidly and uniformly cooled.
