  • Patent number: 8902378
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display (LCD) device, an LED PCB with the reflection layer formed on surface thereof is installed at an upper side of the LED array and a reflection plate extends such that it sufficiently covers the lower portion of the LED array to thus make light emitted from the light source incident to its maximum level, thus coping with the reduction in the quantity of light resulting from making the LCD device thinner. The LCD device includes: a liquid crystal panel; an LED array supplying light to the liquid crystal panel; a light guide plate installed in a direction in which the LED outputs light, and guiding light; a reflection plate formed between the LED array and a lower portion of a lower cover; and an LED PCB attached to an upper portion of the lower cover at an upper side of the LED array and having a reflection layer formed at a side facing the light guide plate.

  • Publication number: 20120014136
Abstract: A light guide plate having a pattern to minimize generation of a dark zone and a backlight unit including the same are disclosed. The light guide plate includes an intaglio pattern consisting of recesses formed in a surface opposite to a light emitting surface thereof to have a cross section having major-axis and minor-axis diameters and depth, the recesses being spaced apart from one another in first and second directions by first and second distances respectively. The density of the intaglio pattern is directly proportional to the major-axis and minor-axis diameters and depth, and is inversely proportional to the first and second distances. The intaglio pattern has the minimum density in a first region adjacent to a light source, and the maximum density in a second region that is the maximum distance from the light source. A density ratio of the maximum density to the minimum density is 900.

  • Patent number: 7482741
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a funnel for slim cathode ray tubes. The funnel is constructed such that the deflection angle of an electron beam is 120 degrees or more. On the assumption that, at a top of round (TOR) part located between a body and a yoke part, the thickness of each long side (x-axis) is Tx, the thickness of each short side (y-axis) is Ty, and the thickness of each diagonal part is Td, the following inequality is satisfied: Td>Tx>Ty. The TOR part has a horizontal inner curvature, a horizontal outer curvature, and a vertical outer curvature, which are convex toward the outside of the funnel, and a vertical inner curvature, which is convex toward the inside of the funnel.
