  • Patent number: 8121143
Abstract: A scheduling method for a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system is provided. The scheduling method for a BWA system includes selecting a terminal having a highest priority using a scheduling algorithm, determining a burst region to be assigned to the terminal, and constructing a frame intended for the terminal according to the determination. The method improves network throughput and power conservation performance of subscriber stations.

  • Patent number: 7852816
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting packets is capable of saving energy in a mobile ad-hoc network. In the method and apparatus, a phenomenon of abnormality is prevented by one or more mobile terminals exchanging with each other, in an Ad-hoc Traffic Indication Message (ATIM) window period, an ATIM frame containing information about the number of packets attempted to be transmitted and information about the number of continuous transmission failures. As a result of the exchange, each terminal determines transmission priorities of itself and the other terminals using the information. Thus, each mobile terminal can fairly transmit data during a data transmission window.

  • Publication number: 20100054166
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting a paging message in a wireless communication system are provided. A method for operation transition of a communication module operating in an idle mode includes, when a listening interval arrives, determining if a paging message is received, when the paging message is not received during the listening interval, determining if paging information on the communication module is received from a different communication module, and, when the paging information is received from the different communication module, transiting to an active mode.

  • Publication number: 20090232039
Abstract: A portable terminal capable of Internet access and a mode control method for the same are provided. The mode control method includes analyzing, upon reception of a packet during a sleep mode, the received packet, determining whether the received packet corresponds to service setting information, and transitioning, when the received packet corresponds to the service setting information, into an awake mode. The service setting information may include a list of IP-based services classified by protocol.
