Abstract: An apparatus selectively attaches a physiologic sensor pod to an article of apparel or clothing, wherein the sensor pod includes a housing having a top surface, a bottom surface, a peripheral surface, and a groove extending around the peripheral surface. In an embodiment, the apparatus comprises an elastic ring having an inner circumference slightly smaller than an outer circumference of the groove in the outer circumference of the sensor pod. The apparatus can also include a slit extending from an outer circumference of the elastic ring toward, but not all the way to, the inner circumference of ring, wherein a portion of fabric is insertable into the slit, at which point, a peripheral portion of the elastic ring can be sewn or otherwise attached to the fabric. In another embodiment, the adaptor includes a support ring adapted to be sewn to the elastic ring with a portion of fabric therebetween.

Abstract: A video decoding method includes determining, from among a first sample and a second sample with different color components, at least one second sample that is used to correct a value of the first sample; determining a filter parameter set based on a band including the value of the first sample, wherein the band is from among a plurality of bands determined by dividing a total range of sample values into signaled intervals or predetermined intervals; and filtering a value of the at least one second sample by using the determined filter parameter set and correcting the value of the first sample by using a value obtained by the filtering, wherein the first sample is any one of a luma sample and a chroma sample, and the second sample is any one of the luma sample and the chroma sample that is not the first sample.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a figure recognition system and method for automatic detection, tracking and recognition of a human face image. 2D image data in the surveillance zone are remotely collected by using an optical sensor, the faces of all persons in the surveillance zone are detected, and corresponding positions are determined. The face is detected, the detected face's feature coordinate is estimated, and the detected face and the feature are tracked in the next frame while processing the video sequence. Image quality of each detected face is determined according to parameters of focus, brightness, contrast, and the presence of glasses. Recognition methods stored in the repository for each detected face are adjusted by considering the face image quality computation value, and a biometric feature set is generated by using the recognition method selected for each detected face.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus and a control method thereof are disclosed. The electronic apparatus according includes: a first communicator configured to communicate with an authentication terminal device; a second communicator configured to communicate with a new terminal device that is not registered with an access point (AP); a storage configured to store authentication information for accessing the AP; and a controller configured to control the second communicator to transmit the authentication information that is stored in the storage to the new terminal device in response to receiving terminal information of the new terminal device from the authentication terminal device through the first communicator.

Abstract: A device is disclosed for wearing on a wrist or other body part including a central piece held on the body part by a pair of straps. The proximal end of a strap includes a mounting pin for sliding into and out of a slot on the central piece. The proximal end of the strap further includes a positioning curve which mates with a correspondingly shaped receiving curve on the central piece when the strap is properly affixed and centered on the central piece. When properly affixed and centered on the central piece, the positioning curve on the strap aligns with the receiving curve of the central piece, so that the positioning and receiving curves are at their lowest energy state, resisting lateral movement out of a centered position.

Abstract: An inter-layer video decoding method according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: obtaining prediction mode information for a current block of a depth image from a bitstream; creating a prediction block of the current block on the basis of the obtained prediction mode information; predicting an average value for the prediction block by using the pixel values of a designated location of the prediction block; and decoding the depth image by using the average value for the prediction block.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a mass spectrum of reproducible ions generated at a constant temperature by measuring a total ion count, and the use of a matrix for quantitative analysis using MALDI mass spectrometry are disclosed. More particularly, a method for measuring a mass spectrum of ions generated at a constant temperature may include selecting only mass spectra having the same total ion count, among multiple mass spectra obtained from ions formed by applying energy to a specimen having a sample mixed therein.

Abstract: An interlayer video decoding method includes: selecting a luminance compensation model to be applied to a first layer reference block and determining a luminance compensation parameter for the selected luminance compensation model; and compensating for luminance of the first layer reference block by using the luminance compensation parameter and reconstructing a second layer image comprising a second layer current block.
