Abstract: The systems and methods described herein relate to mobile devices. More specifically, the systems and methods described herein relate to dynamically altering a stating of an application on a mobile device. Mobile devices may have several applications installed thereon. In some instances, the applications may not be available. The application icon may be dynamically altered to indicate a status of the application.

Abstract: A method for preventing application uninstalls on devices is described. In one embodiment, the method includes identifying granted device administrator permissions in association with an application installed or being installed on a device, monitoring the device relative to the granted device administrator permissions, and suspending a callback function to prevent the device from enabling revocation of the granted device administrator permissions.

Abstract: Dynamic on-device passcode to lock lost device is described. In one method, a security agent executing on a processor of a user device periodically generates a dynamic passcode using a cryptographic function and a cryptographic seed according to a predefined time interval. While the user device is in a first state, the security agent sends the cryptographic seed to an authentication service. The method receives an acknowledgement of receipt of the cryptographic seed from the authentication service and detects that the user device is in a potentially lost or stolen state based on a defined condition of the user device. In response to the detecting that the user device is in the potentially lost or stolen state, the method locks the user device and may unlock the user device when a current instance of the dynamic passcode is correctly entered on the user device.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method for preventing the installation of unapproved applications may include (1) determining that the computing device is pre-configured with a set of approved applications and (2) preventing the installation of unapproved applications onto the computing device by (a) monitoring processes running on the computing device via a daemon executing in the background of the computing device, (b) detecting, by monitoring the processes running on the computing device, an attempt to launch a process that facilitates the installation of applications onto the computing device, and (c) in response to detecting the attempt to launch the process, terminating the process before the process can facilitate the installation of an application onto the computing device. Abstract: A computer-implemented method for pre-installation detection of malware on mobile devices may include intercepting one or more communications of an application installation agent that installs applications on a mobile computing device. The method may further include identifying, based on the one or more intercepted communications, an application that has been at least partially downloaded by the application installation agent. The method may also include, in response to identifying the application, and before the application is installed on the mobile computing device, scanning the application for malware. The method may additionally include determining, based on the scan, that the application contains malware. The method may finally include performing a security action in response to determining that the application contains malware.
