  • Publication number: 20180183148
Abstract: A compact quasi-isotropic shorted patch antenna and method of fabricating the same are disclosed. The patch antenna uses a small ground plane which has same dimensions with the radiating patch, therefore the radiation caused by the currents on the radiating patch is cancelled out by that comes from the opposite currents on the ground plane. Quasi-TEM mode is excited in the radiating patch cavity, generating surface magnetic currents on the open-ended slot and electric currents on the shorted side-wall. The corresponding currents are found not only perpendicular but also quadrature with each other, and therefore the patch antenna can provide a quasi-isotropic radiation pattern without involving complex feeding circuit.

  • Publication number: 20180151955
Abstract: A low-profile dual-band filtering patch antenna and its application to LTE MIMO system are disclosed. By using two embedded U-shaped radiating patches and a multi-stub microstrip feed-line, two operating bands and four radiation nulls can been generated and individually controlled, the design is thus very simple and flexible. Based on the proposed low-profile dual-band filtering patch antenna, a MIMO antenna with a very low profile, low mutual coupling and low ECCs has been presented.

  • Patent number: 9941596
Abstract: A dual-polarized filtering antenna comprising a driven patch, a parasitic stacked patch and a feeding network is disclosed. Two orthogonal H-shaped feeding lines are coupled to the driven patch for realizing dual polarization. The H-shaped feeding line provides a sharp roll-off rate at the lower band-edge, whereas the stacked patch offers a radiation null at the upper stopband. As a result, a quasi-elliptic bandpass response can be achieved for both polarizations.

  • Patent number: 8803749
Abstract: An elliptically polarized (EP) dielectric block antenna comprises a linearly polarized (LP) dielectric block antenna and a wave polarizer integrated with the LP dielectric block antenna. The wave polarizer converts the LP wave of the LP dielectric block antenna into an EP wave or a circularly polarized (CP) wave. The wave polarizer is directly integrated with the LP dielectric block antenna by fabricating inclined slots on faces of the dielectric block at an oblique angle to the LP wave direction of polarization. This provides a very compact EP or CP antenna with a broadside or omnidirectional radiation pattern. The EP or CP antenna is excited by an inner conductor of a SubMiniature version A (SMA) connector that can be directly connected to a coaxial line thereby providing a simple feed network for the antenna.
