    Abstract: Provided is a composite membrane for western blot, in which the composite membrane is prepared by combining nanofiber webs with nonwoven fabrics, and a basis weight of the nanofibers is in a range of 1 gsm to 50 gsm on the nonwoven fabrics, and an average pore size is in a range of 0.1 ?m to 1.0 ?m. The composite membrane for western blot including nanofibers has advantages such as saving of a production cost, and an excellent response characteristic due to a capillary phenomenon of a double structure, to thereby easily detect even a small amount of a particular substance present in a protein.

    Abstract: Provided are a switching circuit and a small-size high-efficiency direct current-to-direct current (DC-DC) converter for portable devices including the same. Using dynamic threshold-complementary metal oxide semiconductor (DT-CMOS) transistors having dynamic threshold voltages as a switching device, the switching circuit maintains a low threshold voltage in a normal mode to improve current drivability while reducing conduction loss, and maintains a high threshold voltage in a standby mode to minimize power consumption. When the switching circuit is employed in a DC-DC converter, power conversion efficiency can be improved by reducing conduction loss in the normal mode, and power consumption can be minimized in the standby mode. Consequently, the DC-DC converter can maximize a use time of a battery of a portable device and can be useful in power supplies of portable devices that are gradually being miniaturized.

The method of manufacturing a heat-resistant and high-strength ultrafine fibrous porous separator includes the steps of: air-electrospinning a mixed solution of 50 to 70 wt % of a heat-resistant, polymer material and 30 to 50 wt % of a swelling polymer material, to thereby form a porous web of a heat-resistant ultrafine fiber in which the heat-resistant polymer material and the swelling polymer material are consolidated in an ultrafine fibrous form; performing drying to control a solvent and moisture that remain on the surface of the porous web; and performing thermal compression on the dried porous web at a temperature of between 170° C. and 210° C. so as to obtain the separator.
