  • Publication number: 20030193290
Abstract: A bulb for an electrodeless lamp comprises: an envelope through which the light can be permeated; a filled material filled in the envelope for emitting the light as being excited by high frequency energy; and buffer gas, wherein the buffer gas comprises first buffer gas, and second buffer gas having a partial pressure less than 1% of the partial pressure of the first buffer gas in order to reduce a discharging voltage and lighting time, and thereby, the re-lighting after putting out the light can be performed easily and the re-lighting time is reduced to improve the convenience of the user and the reliability of electrodeless lamp.

  • Patent number: 6633111
Abstract: An electrodeless lamp is disclosed. The electrodeless lamp according to the present invention is characterized in that SnI2 is used as a major component filled into a bulb as a filler, and the filler is excited by applying a microwave or high frequency to the bulb for thereby generating a visual ray for thereby obtaining a certain color temperature proper as a light source and implementing a faster light emission start-up at a lower cost without an additive.

  • Patent number: 6621978
Abstract: The present invention relates to a light guide capable of transferring light from an illuminating apparatus to a certain distant destination. The light guide includes a light source, and a hollow guide unit extended from the light source and having a transparent lateral surface. The present invention provides a pipe shaped light guide having a cross section of an epicycloidal curve for enhancing power and a light emitting characteristic. In the present invention, light is transmitted using a light transmitting material or a prism at a portion of a cross section of the epicycloidal curve, and a reflection plate formed of a high reflection ratio is installed at the remaining portions of the cross section of the same. In addition, an expensive lens or prism is not used in the present invention thereby decreasing fabrication cost. It is possible to provide a high efficiency light guide.

  • Patent number: 6617793
Abstract: A resonator for use in microwave lighting apparatus includes a mesh portion formed in a cylindrical shape with one side opened, at least one portion of which prevents microwave transmitted through a waveguide from leaking and light radiated from a light bulb is transmitted outwardly, the mesh portion being formed integral without a joint. Since the portion of the mesh structure is integrally formed as one body without a joint rather than being welded to be coupled, the microwave is prevented from leaking. In addition, since the holes of the mesh portion are uniformly formed without any clogged portion, the light transmittance area is enlarged, improving the light efficiency of the lighting apparatus.
