  • Patent number: 7787424
Abstract: A method for relaying packets through a relay node in a communication system composed of a source node, a destination node and at least one relay node for transferring the packets transmitted from the source node to the destination node. The relay node compares a potential corresponding to a number of hops and constituting the transferred packets with a stored potential from the destination node. If the stored potential is smaller than the potential constituting the packets, the relay node updates the packet and broadcasts the updated packets. Also, according to a method for setting a route for transmitting packets, packets are broadcast and it is checked whether updated packets obtained by updating the broadcast packets are received. If updated packets are received, an address of a packet transmission node constituting the updated packets is stored and the following packets are transmitted to the node having the stored address.

  • Patent number: 7593385
Abstract: A wireless communication system capable of performing an optimized routing that includes a transmitting node transmitting a route request message including its own diameter option to all nodes existing in a communication area in a network, and a plurality of receiving nodes receiving the Route-Request message from the transmitting node, checking whether the receiving nodes themselves are terminal nodes located at terminals of a spanning tree to which the RREQ message is transmitted, and transmitting route reply messages including diameter reply options to the transmitting node when the receiving nodes themselves are the terminal nodes. The transmitting node measures a magnitude of the network based on the diameter reply options included in the Route receives messages. Accordingly, the respective node in the MANET measures the network range and actively use the measured information, and thus a routing optimized to the current circumstances of the network is performed.

  • Publication number: 20090041095
Abstract: Provided is a fine frequency synchronization method of a WiBro system, and particularly, a fine frequency synchronization method which measures a spread degree of a received signal of an adjacent subcarrier using orthogonality of PN sequences and thereby estimates a frequency offset, in a base station or a wireless repeater without using a GPS receiver. The fine frequency synchronization method includes: (a) performing despreading on received adjacent subcarrier sequences, using a PN sequence transmitted from a transmitting party; (b) obtaining ratios of correlative values obtained by the despreading; and (c) estimating a frequency offset on the basis of the ratio of correlative values. Accordingly, fine frequency offset estimation with relatively low complexity is possible without using a GPS receiver in a WiBro environment where interference signals of other base stations or repeaters exist.

  • Publication number: 20070081482
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system are provided for routing a broadcast data frame in a mesh network with multiple mesh portals. In the mesh network, every mesh point selects and registers its default mesh portal. A mesh portal enters its address in a destination address field of a broadcast data frame received from outside of the mesh network and broadcasts the data frame to inside of the mesh network. The mesh point processes a received broadcast data frame relating to its registered mesh portal, thereby preventing the broadcast data frame from being redundantly transmitted in the mesh network.
