    Abstract: A heart valve prosthesis can have a valve anchor with at least one U-shaped member extending about a longitudinal axis of the valve anchor. The U-shaped member can have a peak portion and a base portion. The peak portion can have an engagement structure that allows a surgeon to engage the valve anchor with a delivery device and manipulate a position of the valve anchor in situ in order to achieve optimal placement of the prosthesis at a target site within a patient.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods of treating a patient that has a low coronary ostia height. The methods can involve advancing a heart valve prosthesis to a native valve structure having an ostium and positioning the prosthesis to align a gap between major peaks of the prosthesis with the ostium to avoid obstruction of the ostium. The presently disclosed methods and prostheses can be effective at treating patients with a coronary ostia height of as low as 10 mm, 8 mm, 6 mm, or less.

    Abstract: A replacement heart valve prosthesis can be delivered to or within an existing prosthesis through a valve-in-valve delivery procedure. The existing prosthesis can be a prosthetic heart valve or other device that is implanted at a target site, such as an aortic or mitral valve of the heart. The methods provided herein can allow a surgeon to position a replacement prosthesis within or adjacent to an existing prosthesis and permit the replacement prosthesis to expand into engagement against the existing prosthesis. Thereafter, the surgeon can adjust components of the replacement prosthesis, including the position of separate anchor and frame components in order to ensure accurate and secure placement of the replacement prosthesis at the target site.

    Abstract: A new technique, referred to as PSBEE, is disclosed and enables fabrication of freestanding nanomembranes. The PSBEE technique enables fabrication and synthesis of nanomembranes comprising 2D high entropy alloys and 2D metallic glasses and may be extended to ceramics and semiconductors, thereby enabling the fabrication of large-scale freestanding nanomembranes across a wide range of materials, including those deemed to have a great potential for future functional and structural use. To form nanomembranes using PSBEE, a plurality of membranes may be prepared and subjected to thermoplastic compression. Afterwards, one of the membranes may be removed and the remaining membranes may undergo additional thermoplastic compression in the presence of a Si substrate. Once a threshold level of smoothness is achieved, a coating or film may be applied and then separated from the final plate.
