  • Publication number: 20080069384
Abstract: A speaker device for a portable terminal including a first housing and a second housing coupled to the first housing and rotating towards or away from the first housing while facing the first housing. The speaker device includes a speaker unit mounted in the second housing, first sound output holes formed in the second housing, and second sound output holes formed in the first housing. When the second housing is folded to the first housing, a sound output from the speaker unit is guided into the first housing through the first sound output holes, travels inside the first housing and is output through the second sound output holes. In the speaker device for the portable terminal, the speaker unit and the resonating space are separately positioned in the housings, thereby providing a mellow volume and a high-quality sound and contributing to slimness of the portable terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050106583
Abstract: An improved polymer device for conducting a multiplicity of individual and simultaneous binding reactions or performing other separation techniques is described. The apparatus comprises a polymer substrate on which are located discrete and isolated sites for such reactions or separation phenomena. The apparatus is characterized by discrete and isolated regions that extend through said substrate and terminate on a second surface thereof such that when a test sample is allowed to the substrate, it is capable of penetrating through each such region during the course of a reaction. The use of castable polymer techniques improves the manufacturing flexibility and cost over prior materials and fabrication methods and also provides certain improved properties such as lower specific stiffness and ease of lamination or bonding to other elements of a device.

  • Patent number: 6788679
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multicasting network apparatus and method for an ATM switching system having a banyan network and a route network which includes a header encoder part for generating a header, a boolean splitter network for copying a cell routed from the banyan network to thereby transmit the same to a route network. The boolean splitter network includes a plurality of boolean splitters, each of the boolean splitters includes the step of dividing the destination addresses of a cell into an upper group and a lower group and selecting an active port to thereby route the same. As described above, any extra translation table is not required owing to a cell copying operation according to the present invention, whereby the number of hardware components can be reduced, and an expansion can be easily performed.

  • Patent number: 6577083
Abstract: A method and apparatus for vertical S linearity correction with no external components. A periodic waveform may be cubed to produce a second waveform. This second waveform may be sampled to obtain a peak value of the periodic waveform. The peak value may be multiplied by a constant to produce an offset value. The offset value may be subtracted from the second waveform to produce a third waveform. This third waveform may be added to the periodic ramp voltage. Consequently, the periodic waveform is modified by a cubic waveform.
