Abstract: An interface card and a computer motherboard which are used in a horizontal adaptation include a motherboard on which is configured with at least two sets of first slots; and at least one interface card, a side of which is provided with at least two sets of adapting parts being correspondingly plugged into the aforementioned two sets of first slots, and one set of the adapting part on which is connected with a circuit of the interface card. By assembling the two sets of first slots on the motherboard correspondingly with the two sets of adapting parts on the interface card, the interface card can be firmly positioned on the motherboard. The adapting part is connected with the circuit of interface card and corresponding plugged into the first slot, such that the interface card can be electrically conducted with the motherboard thereby exchanging and processing messages.

Abstract: A method for improving a performance of a heterojunction bipolar transistor is provided. The method includes steps of providing a substrate; forming a first at least one semiconductor layer on the substrate; forming a second at least one semiconductor layer on the first at least one semiconductor layer; and inserting a thermal treatment process within the second at least one semiconductor layer so as to improve a performance of the heterojuntion bipolar transistor. Furthermore, the thermal treatment process is performed at a temperature ranged from 300° C. to 800° C.

Abstract: An apparatus capable of operating as an interleaver, a deinterleaver, a filter, or some combination thereof is described. An optical device that can be configured to multiple different optical components. In one embodiment, the optical device can be configured to operate as a single double-pass interlayer/deinterleaver, as two single-pass interleaver/deinterleavers, or as one or more filters. In one embodiment, the optical device has ports on two or more planes and a birefringent element that occupies the two or more planes. Connections between the two or more planes can be made by walk-off crystals internal to the optical device or between ports by connections that are external to the optical device to configure the optical device.

Abstract: A home-style decoctor endowed with steamy boiling function includes a main body equipped with a heater; a heating vessel; a support plate for allowing a to-be-boiled object to be placed above the surface of water stored in the heating vessel; means for supplying water for boiling into the heating vessel so that the to-be-object is immersed; a steam collector for gathering steam produced when the to-be-boiled object is decocted with water; means for condensing the steam collected into the steam collector; andsteam/condensed water guiding means for leading the steam present in the heating vessel to the steam collector and the condensed water placed in the steam collector to the heating vessel. With such construction, undried or white ginseng can become red ginseng extract by producing such useful components as several kinds of phenolic compounds and maltol, anti-oxidants, and ginsenosides Rg and Rh through steam-boiling, drying and re-boiling.
