  • Publication number: 20200334538
Abstract: Embodiments are associated with conditional teacher-student model training. A trained teacher model configured to perform a task may be accessed and an untrained student model may be created. A model training platform may provide training data labeled with ground truths to the teacher model to produce teacher posteriors representing the training data. When it is determined that a teacher posterior matches the associated ground truth label, the platform may conditionally use the teacher posterior to train the student model. When it is determined that a teacher posterior does not match the associated ground truth label, the platform may conditionally use the ground truth label to train the student model. The models might be associated with, for example, automatic speech recognition (e.g., in connection with domain adaptation and/or speaker adaptation).

  • Patent number: 10729730
Abstract: The described invention provides a method of functionally reprogramming adult cells to an immature cell type that expresses one or more embryonic biomarkers. The reprogramming is accomplished by contacting the adult cells with a platelet rich fraction comprising platelet-like cells from umbilical cord blood or peripheral blood, and expanding the immature cell type in vitro under culture conditions to generate an insulin-producing cell population that expresses human beta-cell specific transcription factors and is functionally equivalent to human pancreatic beta-cells. Without being limited by theory, platelet-like cells and their released mitochondria display immune tolerance-associated markers that may modulate the function and differentiation of immune cells.

  • Publication number: 20200181946
Abstract: A door lock includes a motor and thumb turn that can be selectively used to move a lock drive and lock mechanism between lock and unlock positions. A position sensor can detect a position of the lock drive independent of movement of any drive train component operating to move the lock drive, such as a motor, transmission or other drive train element. The position sensor may be coupled to a position gear that moves in response to lock drive movement, but is independent of any drive train component, i.e., the position gear does not transmit drive energy to the lock drive. A clutch may be provided that decouples the drive train from the lock drive.
