  • Patent number: 10544335
Abstract: A rosin dispersion is a reaction product of, by dry weight based on total dry weight of the rosin dispersion, from 80% to 98% a rosin resin, and from 2% to 20% a dispersant. The rosin resin is processed by at least one method of a) modification, b) hydrogenation or disproportionation, and c) polymerization or esterification from raw material rosins. The dispersant is selected from C18-C32 aliphatic carboxylic acids, olefin (meth) acrylic acid copolymers, and other acid/anhydride modified polymers. A continuous process for preparing the rosin dispersion and an adhesive formulation comprising the rosin dispersion are also included.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2014
Date of Patent: January 28, 2020
Assignees: Dow Global Technologies LLC, Rohm and Haas Company
Inventors: Miao Yang, Weichao Gu, Zhaohui Qu, Yongfu Liang
  • Publication number: 20190084284
Abstract: A method for bonding a fabric to a polyolefin elastomer. The method comprises applying to the fabric: (a) from 10 to 90 wt % of an aqueous dispersion of a thermoplastic polymer; and (b) from 90 to 10 wt % of an aqueous dispersion of a rosin, wherein percentages are based on total dry weight of thermoplastic polymer and rosin.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 16, 2018
    Publication date: March 21, 2019
Inventors: Yong Chen, Yongchun Chen, Weichao Gu, Yongfu Liang, Xiao Yi Pang, Haiyang Yu
