For any instant message in any conversation, in response to a first operation triggered for a target message in a first conversation, the target message link corresponding to the target message is obtained. After obtaining the target message link, in response to a second operation triggered by the user in the target application, the target message link is added to the page of the target application, so that the target message link is displayed in the page of the target application. That is, the present application links the target message so that the target message link corresponding to the target message can be added to other applications, thereby the target message is shown in other applications, thus enhancing the circulation of the messages and improving the user experience.
