  • Publication number: 20130077704
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a coder for jointly coding Pre-coding Matrix Index #1 (W1) and Rank Index (RI) for channel state information feedback of a double codebook precoding frame. In the present invention, it is determined whether Rank Index RI is more than 2; if the RI is no more than 2, a first half branch of a coding binary tree is used to represent joint coding of the RI and W1 when RI=1 and RI=2; if the RI is more than 2, a second half branch of the coding binary tree is used to represent remaining separate codings and/or joint codings when the RI is more than 2; and processing results of the above coding steps are output. The present invention may be applied to an equal-length coding or an unequal-length coding. The present invention has advantages such as easy implementation, lower signaling overhead etc., and may be suitable for an LTE-A/4G cellular communication system and a future 5G cellular communication system.

  • Publication number: 20120281657
Abstract: A base station in a downlink multi-antenna multi-base station system comprises: a unit for acquiring spatial domain characteristic information for downlink interference; a unit for generating an interference coordination indication based on the spatial domain characteristic information for downlink interference; and a background interface communication unit for transmitting the generated interference coordination indication to a neighboring base station, instructing the neighboring base station to perform resource scheduling, thereby reducing or eliminating interference on the base station. Also disclosed is a method for interference coordination, which is capable of reducing or eliminating interference on a serving base station from its neighboring base stations by utilizing an interference coordination indication transmitted from the serving base station. Only a small amount of inter-base station signaling interaction is required to achieve distributed inter-cell interference coordination.

  • Publication number: 20120207119
Abstract: A method of notifying resource allocation for Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) is provided. A base station notifies to a user equipment a power offset value between an average EPRE value for data symbols and an average EPRE value for the DMRS at each layer in a semi-static or static manner. Also, the base station dynamically notifies to the user equipment a current channel rank or a current DMRS distribution pattern for the user equipment. The user equipment determines an allocated DMRS antenna port based on a correspondence between the received channel rank and an allocation of DMRS antenna port, thereby obtaining resource allocation information for the DMRS. The signaling overhead for power allocation in the system can be reduced, the efficiency of power amplifier can be improved and the flexibility of system scheduling can be increased. A method of notifying antenna port resource allocation for DMRS is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20110218016
Abstract: The present invention is to enable reduction of constraint brought by generation of ID codes of reference signals to be used for cooperative reception and the allocation of the reference signals when radio communication is carried out between a plurality of base station apparatuses and a terminal unit. Terminal units UE201 to UE205 are terminal units existing in the cellular zone of a base station apparatus BS200 and are performing communication with base station apparatus UE200. When terminal unit UE201 is located at the edge of cell and its reception characteristic degrades, another base station apparatus, specifically, base station apparatus BS100 also performs cooperative transmission while terminal unit UE201 performs cooperative reception.

  • Publication number: 20110034198
Abstract: The present invention provides a subband determining method, a base station, user equipment, and a communications system, each of which is used for information feedback. The base station of the present invention finds the subband size on the basis of a system bandwidth and divides the system bandwidth into subbands. The base station further (i) selects some subbands to form a subband set and assign the subband set to user equipment (UE) and (ii) notifies the user equipment (UE) of information about the subband set. The user equipment (UE) in turn finds its corresponding subband size and the number of subbands for use in feedback on the basis of the size of the assigned subband set. The user equipment (UE) further (i) divides the subband set into its corresponding subbands on the basis of a result found and (ii) feeds back information about a predetermined number of subbands to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20110013523
Abstract: The present invention reduces a signaling size of an interference overload indicator. A base station includes an interference-overload-indicator generation control sub-system (1000), an interference-overload-indicator generation sub-system (2000), and a transmitting/receiving sub-system (3000). The interference-overload-indicator generation control sub-system (1000) judges whether or not a condition to initiate interference indicator generation is satisfied, and activates the interference-overload-indicator generation sub-system (2000) only when the condition is satisfied. This makes it possible to reduce a signaling size of the interference indicator. For further reducing the signaling size, an interference indicator signaling is generated by a method such as differential coding, state coding, or a bitmap, and transmitted. According to the present invention, an interference overload indicator generation control mechanism is relatively simple and the signaling size of the interference indicator is small.
