Publication number: 20240184957Abstract: Material fracture is a process involving both linear elastic stage and nonlinear crack propagation stage. A system includes a physics-informed deep learning model integrated with a discrete simulation model (lattice particle method-LPM) to predict material fracture patterns for arbitrary material microstructures under different loadings. The key idea is to leverage physics-knowledge and data-driven approach for accurate and efficient nonlinear mapping. Physics-knowledge includes constraints, microstructure images, and displacement field from pure linear elastic analysis in a linear stage. A Fully Convolutional Network predicts the final fracture patterns in a non-linear stage. Publication number: 20230342414Abstract: A machine-learning framework for multi-fidelity modeling provides three components: multi-fidelity data compiling, multi-fidelity perceptive field and convolution, and deep neural network for mapping. This framework captures and utilizes implicit relationships between any high-fidelity datum and all available low-fidelity data using a defined local perceptive field and convolution. First, the framework treats multi-fidelity data as image data and processes them using a CNN, which is very scalable to high dimensional data with more than two fidelities. Second, the flexibility of nonlinear mapping facilitates the multi-fidelity aggregation and does not need to assume specific relationships among multiple fidelities.
