Abstract: A system for thermal management of a handheld computing device, including: a docking station, including: a first air inlet; a first air outlet; a first fan; the handheld computing device that is removably coupled to the docking station, including: a primary air outlet; a secondary air outlet including a vent door; a primary air inlet; a secondary air inlet; a DOO fan; wherein when the handheld computing device is coupled to the docking station: the first fan moves i) air from the first air inlet to the first air outlet to the secondary air inlet and ii) from the secondary air inlet to the secondary air outlet, and the fan i) moves air from the primary air inlet to the primary air outlet and ii) circulates air about the handheld computing device and to the secondary air outlet.

Abstract: A docking system comprises a handheld device and a dock that are configured for preventing or minimizing damage to a device connector and/or a dock connector during docking. The dock has a cap that can be retracted, wherein the dock connector is recessed until the cap is retracted. The device housing has a device recess complementary to the cap, a device connector opening for access to the device connector and pin recesses for receiving a set of pins. The device recess and cap facilitate alignment of the set of pins relative to the pin recesses, wherein retracting the cap causes the set of pins to extend through pin openings into the pin recesses. The set of pins resist movement and rotation of the base housing relative to the cap and further assist in aligning the device connector with the dock connector.

Abstract: A portable information handling system executes an application, such as a game, that generates audio information for presentation at multiple speakers through multiple channels. An audio vector engine analyzes the channels to derive a direction and distance associated with the audio information so that a visual cue of the relative location of the origin of the audio information may be presented at a display. In one embodiment, the display is a secondary display having a transparent view into the information handling system. In another embodiment, the direction and distance to a sound origin is presented over a map of a game in which the sound originated, such as a shot fired in a game.
