More specifically, disclosed is a method of changing the seed productivity of a plant by controlling the intracellular level of a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1. The AtSPF3 gene has the effect of changing the seed productivity of a plant through an increase or decrease in the expression thereof in the plant. Accordingly, the AtSPF3 gene will be useful for increasing the production of plants and breeding plants.
