  • Publication number: 20160112816
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for recognizing a horn using a sound signal processor are provided. The apparatus includes a data storage unit configured to acquire and store surrounding sound data and a sound signal processor configured to sample a sound signal within the sound data, perform signal conversion, and define and extract the frequency signals. In addition, a horn recognizer is configured to combine the extracted frequency signals, accumulate the frequency signals, and digitize a change rate of the accumulated frequency signals. Further, an output data determiner is configured to determine whether the digitized change rate of the frequency signals is equal to or greater than a threshold value to determine whether and when the horn is generated.

  • Patent number: 9024740
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method of providing a warning to a pedestrian using a laser beam. In particular, objects present in a detection area of a front impact sensor provided on a vehicle are detected. A movement path vector of a first moving object that is moving in a direction identical to that of the vehicle, among the objects present in the detection area, is generated. When the movement path vector of the first moving object falls within an error range of a movement vector of the vehicle, the first moving object is designated as belonging to a group of laser warning target candidates, and thereafter an emission angle of a laser beam is generated. The laser beam is emitted through a laser light based on the emission angle of the laser beam.

  • Publication number: 20140336842
Abstract: A system for identifying road surface conditions includes a road surface measurement sensor attached to a vehicle and configured to generate a measurement signal for a road surface condition, and a controller. The controller is configured to digitalize the measurement signal received from the road surface measurement sensor, calculate a curvature pattern for the road surface condition based on the digitalized measurement signal, and compare the calculated curvature pattern with a pre-stored curvature pattern to identify the road surface condition.

  • Patent number: 8744740
Abstract: A method of detecting a location of an opposing vehicle using Global Positioning System (GPS) information in which pieces of GPS raw data and pieces of GPS post-processing data of a driver's vehicle and of an opposing vehicle are received. It is determined using the received GPS post-processing data whether the opposing vehicle is a vehicle that has entered a predetermined range. If it is determined that the opposing vehicle is a vehicle that has entered the predetermined range, it is determined whether common data is present in the pieces of GPS raw data of the driver's vehicle and of the opposing vehicle by comparing the pieces of GPS raw data with each other. A degree of proximity to the opposing vehicle is using the common data in the pieces of GPS raw data of the driver's vehicle and the opposing vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20130116908
Abstract: A method and system of controlling a relative position between vehicles using a mobile base station is provided. GPS information is received from a satellite at a mobile base station and a target vehicle. The current position information the mobile base station is calculated with reference to a moving speed and direction based on the received GPS information. DGPS correction data is then generated by calculating the calculated position information and the received GPS information through a preset algorithm and the generated DGPS correction data is transmitted to one or more target vehicles. In the control target vehicle, the transmitted DGPS correction data is received, GPS information is received from a satellite, position information is calculated based on the received GPS information and the received DGPS correction data to execute position correction, and a speed and direction of the control target vehicle is adjusted according to the calculated position information.
