Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a glass plate for a display device, a protection film is formed on a mother glass plate. The protection film is patterned to form a protection film pattern which prevents ion exchange. Chemically strengthening the mother glass plate includes exchanging alkaline ions of the mother glass plate including the protection film pattern are exchanged with metal ions of a molten salt to form a first chemically strengthened portion, a non-strengthened portion and a second chemically strengthened portion. The upper surface of the protection film pattern is cut in the scribe line area to separate the glass plate at the non-strengthened portion of the mother glass plate, from the mother glass plate.

  • Patent number: 8547299
Abstract: Provided is a pulse drive-type field emission device. The pulse drive-type field emission device includes anode and cathode substrates that are spaced apart from and face each other, a cathode electrode formed on the cathode substrate, and a field emitter formed on the cathode electrode. The pulse drive-type field emission device further includes a metal mesh-type gate electrode having an opening through which electrons emitted from the field emitter pass and a power source which applies a compensated pulse wave power to the gate electrode or the cathode electrode to compensate for vibration of the gate electrode. Thus, noise from the metal mesh can be prevented without additional fabrication processes by modifying a waveform in pulse driving.

  • Patent number: 8519627
Abstract: Provided is a field emission device having a simple structure and capable of pulse driving and local dimming. The field emission device turns a current flowing from each cathode electrode block on or off in response to a switching control signal having a very low voltage ranging from 0 to 5 V while a constant voltage is applied to an anode electrode and a gate electrode to control a field emission current. Compared with a conventional field emission device, the field emission device having a simple structure is capable of pulse driving and local dimming without using a separate pulse driving high voltage power source.

  • Publication number: 20130214299
Abstract: A thin film transistor array panel and a manufacturing method thereof according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention form a contact hole in a second passivation layer formed of an organic insulator, protect a side of the contact hole by covering with a protection member formed of the same layer as the first field generating electrode and formed of a transparent conductive material, and etch the first passivation layer below the second passivation layer using the protection member as a mask. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the second passivation layer formed of an organic insulator from being overetched while etching the insulating layer below the second passivation layer so that the contact hole is prevented from being made excessively wide.

  • Publication number: 20130195254
Abstract: An X-ray control unit using a monocrystalline material which controls only a specific wavelength of X-rays, by using the monocrystalline material as a filter. The X-ray control unit includes a light source configured to generate X-rays, an X-ray control filter formed of a monocrystalline material having grown in one direction and configured to filter the X-rays generated by the light source to reflect and transmit characteristic X-rays, and an adjustor configured to adjust the light source and the X-ray control filter to arbitrary angles. Since X-rays having a specific wavelength can be selectively used by using a filter, the X-rays can be easily controlled and their intensity can be easily regulated. A characteristic line of the X-rays can be controlled and their intensity can be regulated without directly controlling an X-ray source.

  • Publication number: 20130154815
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method of providing a warning to a pedestrian using a laser beam. In particular, objects present in a detection area of a front impact sensor provided on a vehicle are detected. A movement path vector of a first moving object that is moving in a direction identical to that of the vehicle, among the objects present in the detection area, is generated. When the movement path vector of the first moving object falls within an error range of a movement vector of the vehicle, the first moving object is designated as belonging to a group of laser warning target candidates, and thereafter an emission angle of a laser beam is generated. The laser beam is emitted through a laser light based on the emission angle of the laser beam.

  • Publication number: 20130151136
Abstract: A method of detecting a location of an opposing vehicle using Global Positioning System (GPS) information in which pieces of GPS raw data and pieces of GPS post-processing data of a driver's vehicle and of an opposing vehicle are received. It is determined using the received GPS post-processing data whether the opposing vehicle is a vehicle that has entered a predetermined range. If it is determined that the opposing vehicle is a vehicle that has entered the predetermined range, it is determined whether common data is present in the pieces of GPS raw data of the driver's vehicle and of the opposing vehicle by comparing the pieces of GPS raw data with each other. A degree of proximity to the opposing vehicle is using the common data in the pieces of GPS raw data of the driver's vehicle and the opposing vehicle.
