Patent number: 7510471Abstract: The present invention relates to a flow spreading mechanism, in particular a flow spreading mechanism used with refrigerators or air conditioners to enhance spreading of cool or warm air. To achieve the above-mentioned object, this invention comprises at least one inlet (200) through which fluid flow comes in; a flow separator means (110) dividing the flow coming through the at least one inlet (200) into at least two separate flows; and an outlet (300) through which at least two of the at least, two flows having been divided into separate flows by the flow separator means go out after they meet again, thereby forming complex vortices near the outlet, which make the flow going out of the outlet swing. Flow spreading mechanism of the present invention provides a better uniformity of temperature distribution for refrigerators or air conditioners, compared with the simple-ducted outlet of the prior art.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2002Date of Patent: March 31, 2009Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventors: Sung Hwa Lee, Yoon Seob Eom

Publication number: 20090071033Abstract: A ductless type clothes drier comprises: a heat pump system including a condenser configured to supply hot air into the drum, and an evaporator configured to remove moisture inside air exhausted from the drum; and a lint removing unit configured to inject water to the evaporator so that lint on the evaporator can be removed. Accordingly, without using water, moisture included in exhausted air can be removed as a heat exchange process is performed at the evaporator. Water for removing moisture included in air does not have to be supplied to the ductless type clothes drier, thereby solving cost increase due to increase of a water consumption amount. Furthermore, since clean water remained after being used for heat exchange is not discarded, waste of water resources is prevented. Also, the conventional problem that the ductless type clothes drier has a difficulty in being commercialized due to increase of a water consumption amount is solved.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2008Publication date: March 19, 2009Inventors: Seung-Phyo AHN, Byeong-Jo Ryoo, Sung-Ho Song, Yang-Hwan Kim, Yoon-Seob Eom, Yang-Ho Kim, Jae-Hyuk Wee

Publication number: 20080201977Abstract: A condensing type dryer uses a heat exchanger in which condensed water can be smoothly discharged through a water-discharging slot formed in a rear end portion of a rear cover of the heat exchanger. The water-discharging slot prevents an air flowing resistance which can be caused by condensed water pooling at the rear end portion of the rear cover. Also, leakage-preventing walls enhance the heat exchanging function by ensuring a uniform flow of cold external air through the heat changer. The leakage-preventing walls prevent external air from leaking around the lateral edges of the heat exchanger.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2007Publication date: August 28, 2008Inventors: Sung-Ho Song, Jung-Geun Oh, Sang-Ik Lee, Yoon-Seob Eom, Han-Yong Jung, Sang-Hun Bae
