  • Publication number: 20060018309
Abstract: A home network system for supporting continuity of data transfer destined for an MS (Mobile Station) when the MS moves between wireless nodes, comprising a server for storing multimedia data and a network connecting the server to the MS via the wireless nodes. A first wireless node, while transferring predetermined data from the server to the MS, senses that a connection with the MS is cut off. The predetermined data to be transferred to the MS is then buffered in one or more of the wireless nodes at a time point of disconnection with the MS, and the first wireless node maintains a connection with the server. A second wireless node in the home network system establishes a connection with the MS and, in response a data transfer request from the MS, provides the buffered data to the MS.

  • Publication number: 20050272469
Abstract: A method for controlling a local printer connected to a PC (Personal Computer) using a portable terminal for mobile communication in a home network system. The method controls the printer serving as a local device not included in the home network system by means of the portable terminal for mobile communication serving as a home networking device. In the home network system including the portable terminal and the PC, the portable terminal is connected to the PC by means of home networking. Content within the PC is searched for and selected using the portable terminal. The portable terminal sends a print request message to the PC so that the local printer can print the selected content. In response to the print request message, the PC creates a print job and transfers the selected content to the local printer so that the local printer can print the transferred content. The portable terminal receives a result of the print job from the local printer through the PC.

  • Publication number: 20050078682
Abstract: A method for effectively implementing real time multimedia data transmission in an Ethernet network that operates in a CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detect) scheme. Real time data gets priority over general data, and uses an MPCP (Multi-Point Control Protocol) of the IEEE 802.3ah EPON to prevent a collision from occurring in real time data transmission, and also prevents delay time variation. An RT-IFG (Real Time Inter-Frame Gap) is defined for real time data, shorter than an IFG, to give priority to the real time data over general Ethernet data. The MPCP is used for transmission of real time data without collision between the real time data.

  • Publication number: 20050026569
Abstract: A high-speed WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) system for enabling communication between piconets is configured by at least one first device located in the child piconet. A C-PNC (Child Piconet Coordinator) device includes a C-MIB (Child Piconet Management Information Base) stores mapping information associated with devices located in the child piconet and a P-MIB (Parent Piconet Management Information Base) stores mapping information associated with devices located in a parent piconet. At least one second device is located in the parent piconet. The first device includes a C-MIB and a first B-MIB (Bridging Management Information Base), detects destination information of data using the mapping information stored in the first B-MIB to transmit data to a device located in the parent piconet, and transmits the data containing the detected information to the C-PNC device.

  • Publication number: 20040196862
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting data from an optical network unit (ONU) to an optical line termination (OLT) in a Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (GE-PON) on the basis of a time division multiple access (TDMA) scheme are provided. A measurement of a data transmission time when the data is transmitted to the OLT is obtained, and the measured data transmission time is compared with a predetermined normal transmission time. The transmission of the data is maintained if the measured data transmission time is determined to be less than or equal to the normal transmission time from the comparison result. However, if the measured data transmission time is determined to be greater than the normal transmission time, the transmission of the data is stopped.
