    Abstract: The present invention is related to a composition for the treatment of articular cartilage damage or loss or defect. The composition for the treatment of articular cartilage injury of the present invention is characterized by that it is composed of cellular components separated, proliferated, and/or differentiated from the umbilical cord blood and their media, or of the above cellular components, their media, and biocompatible polymers. Compared to the conventional cells used for the treatment of articular cartilage damage, cellular components of the composition of the present invention have very superior ability of proliferation and differentiation and more easy to be collected and acquired.
