  • Patent number: 8026868
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plurality of scan electrodes, a plurality of data electrodes, a scan driver and a data driver. The scan driver scans the plurality of scan electrodes during an address period in one scanning type of a plurality of scanning types having different scanning orders. Further, the scan driver supplies a scan signal, of which the duration of a voltage rising period is different from the duration of a voltage falling period, to the scan electrodes when scanning the scan electrodes. The data driver supplies a data signal to the data electrodes depending on the scanning type selected from the plurality of scanning types.

  • Publication number: 20070195014
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. A scan driver of the plasma display apparatus supplies scan signals to scan electrodes using a first scan type in a first subfield of a frame, and supplies the scan signals to the scan electrodes using a second scan type, which supplies the scan signals in an order different from the first scan type, in a second subfield of the frame. The scan electrode or a sustain electrode includes a base formed in a direction of the scan electrode and the sustain electrode and a projecting portion. The projecting portion projects from the base toward a central direction of a discharge cell.

  • Publication number: 20070103390
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof. A scan pulse is supplied to scan electrodes according to one or more of a plurality of scan pulse supply orders. Therefore, the present invention is advantageous in that it can prevent the occurrence of an excessive displacement current and can prevent electrical damage to a data driver IC accordingly. Furthermore, according to the present invention, by controlling an application time point of a data pulse applied to data electrodes in an address period, noise of waveforms applied to scan electrodes and sustain electrodes can be suppressed to stabilize an address discharge. Therefore, there are advantages in that the driving of a panel can be stabilized and a reduction in the stability of driving can be prohibited.

  • Publication number: 20070085772
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. In the plasma display apparatus, a scan driver supplies scan signals to a plurality of scan electrodes using a first scan type in a first subfield of a frame, and supplies the scan signals to the plurality of scan electrodes using a second scan type, which directs the scan driver to supply the scan signals in an order different from the first scan type, in a second subfield of the frame. Further, the scan driver consecutively supplies a first scan signal and a second scan signal to a first scan electrode and a second scan electrode of the plurality of scan electrodes. A supply end time point of the first scan signal is later than a supply start time point of the second scan signal.

Abstract: A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plurality of scan electrodes, a plurality of sustain electrodes, a plurality of data electrodes, a scan driver, and a data driver. The scan driver supplies scan signals to the plurality of scan electrodes using one scan type selected from a plurality of scan types, each scan type having a different order of supplying the scan signals, during an address period. The data driver supplies a data signal to the plurality of data electrodes in response to the selected scan type. The width of the data electrode at a first location is different from the width of the data electrode at a second location.
