The coating die includes an upper die plate, a lower die plate, and a shim assembly interposed between the upper die plate and the lower die plate. The shim assembly includes a body shim and one or more spacer shims, and the spacer shims are formed to be individually removable from the coating die such that the number and position of the spacer shims are adjustable.
