    Abstract: Described is a cylindrical secondary battery in which an inner surface of a can is coated to insulate an electrode assembly and a can from each other and to improve heat resistance of the can. The cylindrical secondary battery may include an electrode assembly, a can in which the electrode assembly is accommodated and of which one end is opened so as to be electrically connected to the electrode assembly, a cap plate electrically connected to the electrode assembly, and a rivet terminal insulated from the can and the cap plate, which may be configured to seal one end of the can and which may be insulated from the can. A first coating layer may be provided on at least a portion of an inner surface of the can.
