  • Patent number: 6903501
Abstract: An electron gun for a monochrome cathode ray tube to be used in a projection display device includes a cathode for emitting thermal electrons, and first and second electrodes forming a triode portion together with the cathode. A third electrode is adjacent the second electrode. A fourth electrode is adjacent the third electrode to receive a focus voltage. A fifth electrode partially surrounds the fourth electrode while being adjacent the fourth electrode to receive an anode voltage together with the third electrode. The second electrode has a bottom portion with a stepped portion surrounding a hole for guiding the electron beams while being protruded toward the first electrode, and a sidewall portion extended from the periphery of the bottom portion toward the third electrode. The first and the second electrodes are structured to satisfy the following condition: 0.54?T/G?1.

  • Patent number: 6713964
Abstract: The present invention provides an electron gun for a cathode ray tube that forms a main focus lens of a maximum diameter within a neck of a limited diameter to thereby realize high focus performance and resolution characteristics. The electron gun includes a single cathode emitting electrons; first and second grid electrodes forming a triode portion with the cathode; a third grid electrode provided subsequent to the second grid electrode; a fourth grid electrode provided subsequent to the third grid electrode and to which a focus voltage is applied, the fourth grid electrode including an input section positioned opposing the third grid electrode and an output section connected to the input section; a fifth grid electrode mounted surrounding part of the fourth grid electrode with a predetermined gap therebetween and to which an anode voltage is applied; and a connector interconnecting the third grid electrode and the fifth grid electrode, wherein the output section of the fourth grid electrode is exposed.

  • Patent number: 6163105
Abstract: An electron gun for a cathode ray tube includes a triode portion composed of a cathode, a first grid electrode and a second grid electrode. Each of the first and second grid electrodes has beam-guide holes. The beam-guide hole of the first grid electrode is larger than the beam-guide hole of the second grid electrode. The hole portion of the first grid electrode is thinner than the hole portion of the second grid electrode. The distance between the first grid electrode and the second grid electrode is two or three times greater than as the distance between the cathode and the first grid electrode.
