Publication number: 20050029799Abstract: A secure ID badge which incorporates metallic holographic imaging technology into the object metal surface. The hologram is embedded in a recessed surface of a metal object. Said recessed surface may already exist on the metal object, or be created by altering the die used to strike or cast the metal object to create the recessed surface. The hologram will be a customized size and shape. The recessed surface is of a size and shape able to accommodate the customized hologram. Such a hologram will be personalized in such a way as to identify this particular object against all other similar ones. The metallic side of the hologram is affixed to the metallic object, onto a recessed cavity using appropriately strong adhesive creating permanent bonding between the two devices. The bonding between the security device and the object body is such that the hologram self destructs if tampered with.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2004Publication date: February 10, 2005Inventors: Ron Collinson, Yoram Curiel

Patent number: 6715797Abstract: Methods of creating tamper resistant informational articles and related products are disclosed. In one embodiment, a lens has a preformed transparent hologram, metallized portions are provided and may be altered through selective application of heat to predetermined parts thereof to create information which may be fixed or variable. Printing may be provided on the hologram before metallizing. A base portion underlies the metallized layer. In yet another embodiment of the invention, an opaque base portion has a hologram formed in the upper surface thereof with portions of the hologram being made readily visible by partial metallization covering only portions of the hologram with or without information provided as by printing overlying or underlying portions of the metallized sector or both. A transparent overlying lens is secured in overlying relationship. Metallizing may be such as to permit viewing underlying hologram portions or information or not. Patent number: 6655598Abstract: Methods of creating tamper resistant informational articles and related products are disclosed. In one embodiment, a tamper resistant informational article is provided by creating a base with an elongated metal core having extruded therearound a resinous plastic material. A magnetic media storage element is secured to this base. An antenna may be provided. In another embodiment, a lens is created by providing an elongated transparent layer, forming a hologram in the lower surface thereof and applying information to the hologram. The lens is then secured to a base to protectively surround the information. In another embodiment, a preformed transparent hologram-containing article has information added thereto and is then metallized. A protective resinous layer may be secured over the metallized layer.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2000Date of Patent: December 2, 2003Inventor: Yoram Curiel

Patent number: 6164548Abstract: Methods of creating tamper resistant informational articles and related products are disclosed. In one method a metal foil has a hologram formed therein after which information is created on the metal foil at least partially over the hologram and the foil is encapsulated in a resinous plastic material. Encapsulation may be effected by extruding the resinous plastic material. The assembly may be separated into individual informational articles which resist tampering and resist undesired counterfeiting as by photocopying. In another embodiment, a tamper resistant informational article is provided by creating a base having an upper surface and a lower surface with an elongated metal core having extruded therearound a resinous plastic material. A magnetic media storage element is secured to this base. A lens is created by providing an elongated transparent layer, forming a hologram in the lower surface thereof and applying information to the hologram.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1998Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: Safecard ID System, Inc.Inventor: Yoram Curiel

Patent number: 6129975Abstract: A vehicular validation tab has an outer film provided with an outer surface and an inner surface. Adhesive enhancing tie coat means are secured to the inner surface in some, but not all portions thereof. A layer of adhesive is secured to an inner surface of the outer film with identifying information interposed therebetween. A strippable film may be secured over the adhesive which may be pressure-sensitive adhesive and a write-resistant material may be secured to the outer surface of the outer film. Portions of the inner surface of the outer film not having the tie coat are provided with a release material to provide for differential bonding of the identifying information. The tie coat and release coat portions facilitate destruction of portions of the identifying material when the outer film is separated from the adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1997Date of Patent: October 10, 2000Assignee: Optical Security Group, Inc.Inventor: Yoram Curiel
