  • Publication number: 20010003190
Abstract: With conventional printing services it is too complex to place an order for prints, which has been a burden on users. In a printing system and a method thereof, a server means connected to a network, for retaining image data supplied through the above network, printing means connected to the network and installed in a plurality, for printing images based on the image data appointed by means of external operations and retrieved from the server means through the network, and image data transferring means connected to the network, for transferring the image data to the server means through the network are provided. Thereby, is now possible to have images printed based on image data retained in the server means with the use of a desired printing means of the plurality of printing means.

  • Patent number: 6113836
Abstract: A female mold (2, 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, 62) having a desirable pattern is formed on a substrate (1, 11, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61). Next, ceramic material (3, 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, 63) is filled in spaces in the female mold. Thereafter, the female mold is removed by heating the entire substrate, whereby a desirable thick film pattern can be finely and easily formed. The inorganic paste material comprising inorganic liquid vehicle containing water glass as main ingredient and powdery solid dispersed in the inorganic liquid vehicle is used as the ceramic material. The volume change of the inorganic paste material is small during the drying and calcinating processes, thus the inorganic paste material is prevented from being broken.

  • Patent number: 6081251
Abstract: An apparatus for managing picture data receives picture data representing a number of pictures at different times, generates a time code indicating the time of receipt of each picture, and stores the received picture data with a header that includes the time code. In order to retrieve selected pictures, retrieval parameter information is entered to indicate a selected time period, and the picture data that was received during the selected time period is retrieved. The apparatus also forms reduced size picture data for each received picture and stores the reduced size picture data in the header together with the time code for the corresponding picture. Upon retrieving selected ones of the stored pictures, the corresponding reduced size picture data is used to display simultaneously several reduced size pictures representing the pictures that have been retrieved.

  • Patent number: 5051569
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for recording data on an optical data recording card. The present invention discloses practical data formats for solving the following problems: (1) the control of the operation for reading out unit readout arrays by means of a line sensor; (2) the establishment of synchronism with data pits in case of the readout operation, (3) the discrimination between the adjacent unit readout arrays; (4) countermeasure taken when readout errors occurs; and (5) efficient access to data.In order to solve the above-described problems, data pits are arranged in unit readout arrays; bars are defined for guiding the line sensor; and a format for indicating the center position of each unit readout array is prepared. Furthermore, special bars are also defined in order to correct the inclination of the line sensor. The data pits are arranged at a predetermined period and sync pits are provided to establish the synchronization with the pit period in case of the readout operation.

  • Patent number: 5031112
Abstract: A defect detection system detects defective portions such as scratches, pinholes and dust on a pattern formed surface of a medium such as an optical card, optical disk, holographic memory medium or photomask, on which fine patterns are formed. A light source irradiates a controlled ray to a recording portion as an object of detection of the medium, a position regulating mechanisn contrasts a light receiving position of the recording portion, a reflected ray detector distinctively detects reflected rays from defective portions and normal portions of the medium and a reflected ray controller contacts the reflected rays in a manner that the detector can detect optical data by imaging only the reflected ray from a defective portion without the reflected ray from a normal portion.

  • Patent number: 4970712
Abstract: A format is provided with special error check pits in order to take countermeasures when readout errors occur. Furthermore, in order to take countermeasures when readout errors occur due to local contamination on the optical data recording card, the data are distributed and then recorded. In order to perform the efficient access to data, required data representing a predetermined address value are also recorded together with the general data. A method is also provided for forming pits by modulating the digital signal and an optical system as well as a signal processing system of a reading device used in connection with the optical data recording cards. The optical data recording cards on which are recorded the data by the method of the present invention can be used in various fields as recording media for storage of computer programs, images, musical data and various data bases.
