  • Patent number: 5962373
Abstract: A precursor is made from a plurality of materials having different vapor pressures. The precursor and a source material are placed in a closed heat treatment furnace. The source material is materials which are the same as some of the materials contained in the precursor and having particular vapor pressures. The precursor and source material is thermally treated in the furnace while the source material is being supplied, so the particular materials in the precursor have their evaporation suppressed, thereby forming compounds. The compounds may be oxide superconductors, oxide dielectric, and so on.

  • Patent number: 5894135
Abstract: A superconductor device comprises a Schottky barrier region S.sub.B for selectively passing injected carriers and a collector barrier region L.sub.B for selectively blocking leakage carriers. The Schottky barrier region is formed in a low permittivity region .epsilon..sub.L between the first operating region (B) made of superconductor material and the second operating region (C) made of either semiconductor material or metallic material. A resonance region R is formed in the low permittivity region .epsilon..sub.L.

  • Patent number: 5219834
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing a superconducting transistor on a surface of an insulating substrate. A pre-superconducting thin film contains a material that can be changed into a superconductor during subsequent processing but which is initially a non-superconductor. A thin film containing the material required by the pre-superconducting thin film is deposited in a preferred pattern on the pre-superconducting thin film. The assembly thus formed is heat treated to permit the material from the thin film to enter the pre-superconducting thin film, thereby forming superconducting regions in the pre-superconducting thin film in the preferred pattern. The superconducting regions form electrodes of the transistor.

  • Patent number: 4774755
Abstract: A magnetic head which comprises a pair of head chips each composed of a pair of plate-like magnetic cores superposed on and joined to each other with a spacer interposed therebetween and having a gap at the junction, a pair of base plates joined to the pair of head chips individually and positioned on opposite sides of and in parallel to a plane containing the gaps, each of the magnetic core having at one end thereof a head with a small width substantially equal to the width of tacks and an end portion of increased width opposite to the head, a shield member interposed between the head chips at the head portions, a stud portion provided on at least one of the pair of magnetic cores and projecting toward the other core, and a coil provided around the stud portion. A process for producing such magnetic heads wherein the pair of magnetic cores are positioned close to each other, and the gaps are accurately positioned on the same plane.

  • Patent number: 4769899
Abstract: A twin head for use in an electronic still camera includes a shield plate, first and second head chips bonded on opposite sides of the shield plate, and first and second reinforcing core members further bonded on first and second head chips, respectively. Each of the first and second head chip members has an elongated face that faces a recording medium and a magnetic gap defined at an intermediate portion of the elongated face. The length Wh of the elongated face is between 0.3 millimeter and 1 millimeter. Each of the first and second reinforcing core members has a coil wound thereon. The first and second head chip members, the shield plate, and the first and second reinforcing core members are bonded together such that the elongated faces of the first and second head chip members are in flush with each other and that the magnetic gaps of the first and second head chip members are aligned to each other.

  • Patent number: 4475137
Abstract: A magnetic transducer includes sendust center core having an opening and a head gap extending from the opening to one side of the center core, and a pair of reinforcing cores. Each of the reinforcing cores includes a ferrite plate and a glass member mounted on one side of the ferrite plate. The center core is sandwiched between the two reinforcing cores such that the glass members are located on opposite sides, respectively, of the center core where the head gap is formed, and that one side of the center core is in flush with, or projects from, respective side faces of the glass member. The glass member is formed by a material having an abrasiveness resistivity which is smaller than that of said center core.
