  • Patent number: 11236347
Abstract: Methods and compositions for Ochrobactrum-mediated transformation of plants are provided. Methods include but are not limited to using an Ochrobactrum strain to transfer a polynucleotide of interest to a plant cell. These include VirD2-dependent methods. Compositions include an Ochrobactrum strain, transfer DNAs, constructs and/or plasmids. These include Ochrobactrum strains having a plasmid comprising one or more virulence gene(s), border region, and/or origin of replication. Plant cells, tissues, plants, and seeds comprising a polynucleotide of interest produced by the methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8962328
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for the efficient transformation of a dicot plant. More particularly, compositions and methods of the present invention find use in agriculture for Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of a dicotyledonous plant. The compositions include cultivation media comprising high concentrations of sucrose and glucose. The cultivation media find use in methods directed to Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of a dicot plant with a gene of interest. In this manner, any gene of interest can be introduced into a dicot plant with high transformation efficiency and reduced tissue necrosis.

  • Publication number: 20080234130
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided related to improved plants that are tolerant to more than one herbicide. Particularly, the invention provides plants that are tolerant of glyphosate and are tolerant to at least one ALS inhibitor, and methods of use thereof. The glyphosate/ALS inhibitor-tolerant plants comprise a polynucleotide that encodes a polypeptide that confers tolerance to glyphosate and a polynucleotide that encodes an ALS inhibitor-tolerant polypeptide. In specific embodiments, a plant of the invention expresses a GAT polypeptide and an HRA polypeptide. Methods to control weeds, improve plant yield, and increase transformation efficiencies are provided.
