Abstract: A clamp is configured to securely attach a reel assembly to a fishing rod that is not fitted with a reel seat. The clamp has a first portion that includes a plurality of first flanges and a first concave surface, the first concave surface configured to engage a first side of the fishing rod. The clamp further has at least two second portions each including a plurality of second flanges and a second concave surface, the second concave surface configured to engage a second side of the fishing rod, the second side opposite to the first side. The clamp further has a plurality of fasteners configured to engage the plurality of first flanges and the plurality of second flanges with the first portion positioned on the first side of the fishing rod and the at least two second portions positioned on the second side of the fishing rod.
